My thanks to the wonderful people who have encouraged me in my first few attempts at fiction in decades. I had begun with the expectation I was writing purely for myself, but have to admit it is far more fun to have readers along on the journey! Perhaps having become a widow in the past few years (and to a much older man, who while not a sea captain, did in fact have a Captain's license for the yacht charter business we ran in San Francisco for many years), I have a new and specific perspective about compromise, finding yourself and especially about how rare romance can be, and how much it should be treasured.
