LambdaSchool has an excellent (and free) learn to program online - it's definitely worth checking out if you're looking to get into programming. Check it out! The only difficult part is getting your environment set up correctly; once you move past that portion it is really pretty simple. I recommend JavaScript for getting started simply because it has the simplest environment to set up. A good code bootcamp will teach you front-end as well as back-end, and will ideally dive deep enough into a couple of platforms that you will be able to build full-fledged applications. But make sure you actually know how to code by the time you're done. Way too many code bootcamps teach you how to build applications but never actually teach you how to code. That's a death sentence when it comes to looking for a job. |
