 Author has written 14 stories for Harry Potter, Naruto, and Avengers. I am huge fan of the Harry Potter series, but honestly I am mostly a fan of the fanfiction. I think the canon is so full of holes and inconsistencies that it is perfect for fan created re-writes. FAVORITE CHARACTER Ron Weasley - Ron is the most realistic character in the entire series. He is also the most poorly written. Everyone else in the story is written as the perfect version of themselves. Basically the entire story is filled with Mary and Marty Sues. Only Ron has any real character depth. Unfortunately he is written by someone who is obviously not a boy and who does not understand boys at all, but thinks they do. It is almost as if JK went to a school yard watched two boys playing for an hour and decided she had figured them all out. But his back story is the most interesting. The sixth boy in a family with 7 children. He was obviously the son born when his parents were trying for a girl. And then the next year they got the girl they wanted. That could not have made for the most pleasant upbringing. And the self-doubt and jealousy that he suffers from seems to reflect that LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER Severus Snape - I generally dislike all villains in a story, but Severus Snape has a special place because somehow people, including JK have found him heroic. I understand what an anti hero is and Severus Snape isnt one. It isnt because he is difficult to be around or that he is snarky and insensitive. All those things fit the anti-hero. The issue is that he has no honor. No moral fortitude. MOST ANNOYING CHARACTER Hermoine Granger – The reason I don’t like her as a character is because of how she is written. Everyone in the story is written (badly, in most cases) to grow as individuals. Harry starts out as scared boy and grows into a brave man. Ron goes from immature boy to responsible adult. Hermoine never really changes. She starts out as a know-it-all and ends up as a know-it-all. FAVORITE PAIRINGS Harry/Ginny Ron/Luna Ron/Hermoine - When both characters are giving real personalities LEAST FAVORITE PAIRINGS Draco/Anyone on the light side - Wouldnt wish him on anybody that I like Severus/anybody - Should die unhappy and alone |
