Author has written 2 stories for Naruto, Devil May Cry, RWBY, and Fairy Tail. Suppose I might as well get started on this. So hi. I'm Guest 907, relatively new to the fanfiction world. Actually, it's been about two years in May 2017. Damn, time flies. As you can tell from my favorites list, my favorite anime is Bleach. I know, I know, Bleach doesn't have nearly the respect it used to. But I still like it, especially the characters. I don't have a huge list of fandoms that I'm part of. In fact, I wouldn't really say I'm part of ANY fandom. I'm more of a casual fan, I don't devote as much of my life to fiction as I'm sure a lot of people here do. Why the name Guest 907? Well, I was on FF for about seven months before I made an account, and when I started leaving reviews, I wanted something easy to remember that I could use for any story I came across. So I came up with Guest 907: Guest because I was a guest, 907 because I was born at 9:07 pm. Call me paranoid, but I didn't really want to use my birthday, so I used the next closest number. When I finally made my account, I just used the name I already had. I'm a guy. For those wondering. I mostly read crossovers. There are exceptions, but I usually don't like reading single-work stories. I guess because I've already seen the canon work, I like to believe things settled down after that. Big AUs are probably the most likely to get my attention though. Or crack. Or time travel. I like side characters a lot. All the stories I'd like to write focus on side characters. Not saying I don't enjoy stories where it's the main character getting into trouble, but side characters don't get nearly enough love. I know a lot of people get tired of "Character gets sucked into a portal into other canon," but I like them. They're simple, and you generally know exactly what you're going to get. Of course, fusion crossovers allow for huge amounts of world-building and exploring of concepts, so I can't ignore those. Protector of the Fairies is probably the prime example. I may have like 50 chapters to catch up on, but it's an amazing story that goes above and beyond in crafting the world it made. Seriously, I have no idea why it isn't at the top. I don't care for romance at all. Seriously, I just don't care about it, and I don't understand why everyone always wants pairings. Not every story needs romance. So don't expect any romance in any story I'll write. "But what about 'Hello Halcyon Days' and 'Ichi-nii Knows Best'?" Exceptions. And they're IchiHime, which is probably the only pairing I actually care for. Plus, "Hello Halcyon Days" is quickly getting to the mushy lovey-dovey point where my interest is rapidly dropping. Nothing against the author or story itself, that's just how I am. I'm kind of a stickler for canon. Not nearly as bad as some, but still enough to get peeved at writers changing things they didn't like, although I'm flexible on pairings. Exceptions are fusion crossovers, like PotF. Seriously. It's damn good. Peeves? Oh I have a lot of those, but the severity of them depends on the fandom they're in. Gender bending- Especially in the Harry Potter section, dear God! Character is the sibling/parent/child of character from another series- I can barely stand it when characters are turned into cousins OP- Don't get me wrong- if the character you use is legitimately that much stronger than everyone else, and you can write it well, then go ahead and let them run wild. I care much more about logic than balance. It's when someone takes an early-Shippuden Naruto and gives him ridiculous power-ups so he can shit-stomp Acnologia that I start objecting. Harem- Instant turn off for me OCs that are the main focus of a story- I want to read about the characters from the series and how they deal with the situations they get into, not your OC. That being said, I don't actually mind if an OC is the tertiary or even secondary focus. Reincarnation/character-from-X-series-is-character-from-Y-series Bashing- I don't care if the character is the biggest, most evil asshole that was ever thought up. Treat them fairly Character derailment Female characters only being used for harems- I totally support the right of the authors to write whatever they want, and I'm not complaining about the harems themselves, it's that these characters only show up in harem stories. I'm sure there are more out there, but seriously, Mei Terumi is such a badass in her own right, why hasn't anyone made a story about her? Fandom-specific Harry Potter MoD- It doesn't mean anything! Power the Dark Lord knows not- Heart is an awesome power Evil/Manipulative Dumbledore, Good Voldemort Naruto Evil/Dark/Gray Naruto Smart Naruto Sharingan/Rinnegan/Kekkei Genkai Naruto I think everything else is covered in the general peeves section. So what do I really like seeing in fanfiction? Deconstruction- Deconstruct the hell out of those tropes! Culture clash/values dissonance where appropriate Puns Running gags Currently working on: Reading: Hunting or Bust- Exactly what it sounds like. Done with Master Attlon's permission. The Devil's FairyTail Vacation- Devil May Cry and Fairy Tail crossover. My response to "Devil Tail" by Shocknawe 425. Nothing very serious, only covers the Galuna and Phantom arcs of Fairy Tail. I just wanted to see how Dante would react because of how often he was mentioned in "Devil Tail." Planned works: Bleach/RWBY story starring Yachiru- Currently in Limbo. I have a very hard time writing characters as eccentric as Yachiru, so writing an entire story about her might not be practical for me. Fairy Tail crossover- It's a story about Silver Fullbuster and... ugh. I'm kind of ashamed I even had the idea, but I think I can make it work. The problem is how badly the OTHER anime is written. You'll see when it comes out. Okami/Harry Potter- Nothing special. A bored Amaterasu hears about the Triwizard Tournament and goes to see it. Hijinks ensue. Okami/RWBY fusion story- Maybe. It would be huge and time-consuming. Things I'll write but don't actually plan on developing: Naruto/Tales of Demons and Gods- Tales of Demons and Gods is a Manhua- Chinese equivalent of manga- about a man named Nie Li who dies in battle with a demon king and wakes up in his 13-year-old body on his first day of warrior school. Humanity is scattered, and most settlements believe themselves to be the last one still standing. The city Nie Li lives in is going to be destroyed by demons in three years, so he uses the knowledge he gained in his past life to prepare the city. Okami/Rising of the Shield Hero- Anyone who's played Okami know that your main weapon is a shield. So instead of an otaku, the goddess of the sun gets summoned as the Shield Hero. Okami/Harry Potter 2- Not related to the first one, and inspired by "fire and ice and the occasional wayward spell" by everythingspiteful. Kabegami, the cat goddess from Okami, is sent to Hogwarts during OotP. Hijinks ensue. And that's about it. |
