Some things about my interests relating to fiction. Along with my opinions on some of the things I see in crossovers on this site.

Some writing tips from me

1: Always always always proofread your chapters. Rehearse them in your head and ask yourself "Does this make sense? Would x character really say X or do X?" Posting hot off the press content is never a good idea. I myself have been guilty of this.

2: Make sure your first chapters are Phenomenal. The first few chapters, chapter one especially are probably the most important to keeping readers engaged in the story. If it's low quality or rushed or anything like that, readers may not want to continue, even if your writing improves dramatically in the later chapters. All fics will have far more views on the first chapter, that goes for anyone. Wether you're the best or worst writer to have ever lived. But still, the more the better.

3: As I said. Don't be discouraged if your first chapter(s) have more views than the later ones. That happens to everyone.

4: Ask yourself if your idea has been done before? It's not bad to use a plot similar to other fics that came before yours as long as you put your own spin on it. Avoiding cliche's is impossible nowadays. It's how you handle it that matters.

5 Get a Beta-Reader or a Co-Writer if you can. While you don't have to do this, it will help you immensely in making sure your fic is the best it can be, and your writing ability is the best it can be as well.

6: Go wild with your creativity. There aren't many AU or mixed universe fanfictions on this site and others. It's sort of a hybrid between a fanfiction and an original work.

7: Have a balanced pace. Maintain a balance between detailed scenes, and fast paced ones. Going too slow can bore a reader. While going too fast can leave them confused and lost.

Why I don't like Harems in five sentences or less.

There is a good reason why Polygamy(Essentially harems) is so rare aside from being outlawed irl. Realistically, people don't like to share their significant other. So I honestly just can't take them seriously. If I'm reading a fic with romance in it, I want to read about realistic relationships between characters. Not some hormone fueled fantasy.

My favorite characters.

Ben Tennyson, Albedo, Kevin Levin, Vilgax, Malware(Ben 10)

Akame, Tatsumi (Akame Ga Kill!)

Master Chief, Cortana, Sgt Johnson(What Halo fan doesn't like that guy?), . Halo)

Saitama, Genos, Garou, Tatsumaki(I sympathize with her past though I don't like how obnoxious she can be at times)(One Punch Man)

Rex Salazar(Generator Rex)

The 12'th Doctor, The 10'th doctor. Jack Harkness. The Master(John Simm incarnation) Doctor Who.

Commander Shepard, Garrus Vakarian. Mass Effect

My least favorite characters

Azimuth(He's kinda a jerk and doesn't give a damn about Ben, only the Omnitrix . He also allowed Albedo to continue suffering needlessly) 10 year old Gwen.(I really hated her bossy and smart-alec attitude.) Kai Green.(She only liked Ben when she thought he would make a nice pet. She becomes a better person in Omniverse, but the forced relationship between her and Ben makes her look even worse than before) Ben 10

Missy.(I liked this incarnation of The Master initially, but she felt really OOC in season 10. Clara Oswald.(The center of many deus ex machina elements. First she got scattered along the Doctor's Timeline, and then came back to life for the second time in season 9.) Bill Potts. (Her status as a lesbian was mentioned in every single freaking episode of season 10. I'm not a homophobe, but it felt very forced. Not to mention the deus ex machina she pulled later on.) Doctor Who.

Ur-Didact.(I saw potential for him to be a really great villain, but 343i killed him off before he could've been developed.) Agent Locke.(Boring as hell, his presence in Halo 5 just didn't sit right with me.) Halo.

Esdeath. One of the worst villains I've ever seen. Legit the only reason people like her is because of her looks. Akame Ga Kill!

My general stance on pairings in crossovers.

I'm a fan of pairings, especially the ones that may seem unusual, and are largely unused.. And not the ones that have been done to death. (Looking at you Ben x Harem, and Ben X Gwen writers) Ben X Charmcaster for instance. or Sonic (OPM) x Puri Puri Prisoner. But really, for characters like Ben Tennyson, Saitama, Tatsumaki or even Albedo and others I'll read a pairing between them and (insert character here) as long as the development makes sense. And they aren't too OOC. I generally don't like harems. But I can tolerate one if a story is written well enough. I will read fics that have a love triangle though.

Pairings I don't like/ can have issues.

Ben X Harem I don't like. In my experience, I never really saw Ben as a ladies man(He's no Gary Stu). Sure he may have had a harem episode in Omniverse, but they were more interested in his alien forms rather than Ben as an individual. Sure he deserves a wayyyy better girl than Kai Green, but giving him every girl in a crossover story just doesn't make sense to me. Especially since he only had the hots for Julie until the forced breakup with her and forced pair up with Kai. I can tolerate a harem in a crossover story if it isn't too crazy and evolve the way actual relationships do. I will read Love Triangles. IMO 4 girls in a harem MAX. And even that's really pushing it. Sorry if this offends harem writers, but it's just my opinion.

Tatsumaki X anyone. Some pairings with her and another character(Saitama mostly) can have issues. Mainly because they tend to be rushed and lack good development. She can be paired with a lot of characters, but it takes time and plenty of development to make it believable. Just because someone saves her or defeats her in battle won't make her fall for someone. Though it will mellow her quite a bit and give her respect for said character witch could be used as a starter for the pairing. I really love pairings with her, but only if they aren't totally half assed.

Master Chief X anyone. This is largely the same case as Tatsumaki. Though Master Chief would arguably require even more development to make the few feelings he has truly believable.

Ben X Gwen. This is honestly the one of the few pairings that I really really don't like. Mainly because incest disgusts me, along with the fact that this pairing is wayyyy too common. I will deliberately avoid stories that pair Ben and Gwen. I'm sorry if this offends and ''Bwen'' writers, but it's just my opinion.

Saitama X Genos. Saitama cares for Genos, but not in a romantic way. (He straight up said that he wasn't interested in dudes.)

Esdeath X anyone. How anyone could even remotely consider this character as a love interest for anyone is beyond me. I was honestly glad she died in the end. In order to get most characters with a functioning moral compass to pair with this character, they need to be bent into OOC territory so damn far they might as well be an OC. I cannot take romance subplots with her seriously.

My pet peeves in fanfiction in general.

1 An overused premise.

This is a common issue in Ben 10 fanfictions. Many tend to overuse the same premise where Ben loses all of his family and friends. This has gotten annoying and boring.

2 Crappy/obnoxious harems that don't make sense.

For any crossover, if a bunch of girls just fall in love with the main character right away with little to no development is really annoying. Especially when coupled with peeve number one.

3 Huge author notes.

If the author notes take up a significant portion of the word count then there's a good chance that I might drop the story.

4 (Ben 10 specific)

Any fic that takes away Ben's Omnitrix for whatever reason...no just no...

5 OC X cannon.

This one only applies if a character shows the traits of a mary sue/gary stu. As long as the development makes sense, I'm fine with it.

6 Swarms of short chapters.

This is probably my biggest peeve. I cannot stand stories with 50 chapters that aren't even a page long. If you write your story in this manner, I'll probably drop it unless it is REALLY good.
