![]() Author has written 7 stories for Fruits Basket, Ragnarok Online, Mass Effect, League of Legends, and Fire Emblem. I like to experiment, so you may see me swinging from style to style. This is hell on the mental set when you're alternating from comedy to drama and back again. It's definitely a challenge to write stories in vastly different styles. Favourite authors/writers: Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Agatha Christie, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Kazuo Koike, Stephen King News updates as of 22/09/13: Made a blog with writing tips: News updates as of 21/03/14: Things I've learned from writing MatchMakers: 1) Have an outline, dammit. Even a rough outline can help keep your story on track. 2) Know your characters' backstories BEFORE you write. Find two words that describe the heart of your protagonists, and you'll be good to go (i.e. "insecure assassin"). For optimal story and character interest, make sure the connotations of the words conflict (i.e. "soldier man" versus "soldier woman"). 3) I prefer to write dramas. Found this out while writing a comedy. 4) Read a ton of other fanfics in the fandom you're writing in. Not only will you gain an awareness of the general perception of certain characters, you'll soon pick out portrayals of traits that you like and dislike while incorporating it into your own work. Things I've learned from writing Seduction Theory: 1) See #1 above. | |||||||
