I've resumed work on Jason, my most ambitious story yet, based on the Argonauts myth but set in the Pokemon world.

Fairy Tale: My best story so far.

Set 400 years ago, a Pokemon story told in the tradition of a fairy tale. Blurb: Ash does not get on with Prince Gary, but the king sends them together to rescue Princess Misty. Joined by Pikachu, Prince Brock and his brother Timmy, they face dangers and challenges, engage in swordfights and fistfights, and learn of life, love and friendship.

This story received a Best In Category award at The Pokemon Tower and I have received some fantastic reviews here! Thanks, everyone!

Goodbye, Raichu: IMHO not too bad for my first fanfic.

Ash and Nessa: A sequel to Goodbye, Raichu. Not particularly good.

The Misdreavus Menace, Part I: A sequel to Ash and Nessa. You can read it as an independent story. I think my writing was starting to improve, but I didn't get any good reviews. I might revise this one day. Part II continues from Part I. I think it's got a great plot. I'll try and finish it some day. I did plan a Part III but that's unlikely to happen.

I also wrote two scenes of a play at The Pokemon Tower (www.thepokemontower.com/authors/raichu/play1.html). Unfortunately you can't post plays here. This was an experiment to show how script format can work if done properly. It won a Best In Category award.

Favourite stories

Some comments on a few of my favourite stories here at fanfiction.net:

me and my flame by wild charizard. This was an early work that broke new ground and set a new standard. Pokemon fan fiction was never the same again. Most fanfics before that time were closely tied to the anime, and were like cartoons set to prose. This full-length novel treated Pokémon as if they were real.

Distance from Yesterday by Fish. I think I've read this story three times, and each time it has reduced me to tears.

Dreamer by McWizardX. An innovative storyline that includes many flashbacks, often of the same scene from various points of view, that slowly let you piece the plot together.

Badgequest: Hidden Machine Saga by Cyberwraith9. One of this awesome author's masterpieces.

Everything Changes, Making My Way and One by Dragoness. An amazing trilogy (but a bit gruesome in places).

The Myth of Shadowrun by Mystic Vaporeon, another Pokemon fan fiction pioneer. Sequel to Legends of the Tide which you should read first.

A little about me

I'm a computer programmer who lives in Australia and got into the Pokemon game through one of my workmates. After listening to a copy of the 2BA Master CD, I was inspired to write my own Pokemon stories. For someone who failed high school English, I think I'm not doing too badly... But that's for you to decide, so please review, and be honest about the bad points as well as the good. After all, without feedback, how can anyone improve?
