The relationship between Sesshoumaru & Inuyasha is complicated. This story explores why in 4 segments of time: The time Inutaisho met Izayoi with Sesshoumaru in tow. The time he fell in love with her. The time Sesshoumaru saved the orphaned Inuyasha. And, the time Inuyasha's son inadvertently helped them fix the mess their parents left behind. Inut/Iza, Sess/Rin, Inu/Kag.

Izayoi tells Inuyasha the story of Tanabata, the night when lovers meet and wishes are made. Following tradition, the son makes his wish, and the mother makes hers, but she is claimed by mortality before her wish can be fulfilled. On a night of the new moon, the orphaned Inuyasha meets a demon in white.

Inutaisho was young when he had Sesshomaru. thinking he had it all: power, wealth and an heir to his domain, he was still not happy. he kept busy killing humans for his own pleasure, only to have his rampage hault when he meets a young girl. just with one look he falls for her, but the problem is that she was human and him a n their love survive? story on how they met.

So this is supposed to take place shortly after the death of InuTaisho. Sesshomaru pays Izayoi and her half demon baby a visit after finding out it was not him that inherits the Tetsaiga and he is not happy. No romance. This is a very hard Sesshomaru so turn back if you want to see him being kind. This is a one shot. Rated T merely to be safe because there are implications.
