Hey, I'm Natalia Colantuono, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis in 2011 and 2012.
Endometriosis is when tissue from the endometrium (endometrial/uterine lining) move from the uterus and displace to other parts of the body. Endometriosis occurs in around 1 in 10 women worldwide.
Endometriosis is not cancer. It is a surprisingly common chronic disease only experienced by women during their reproductive years.
Dealing with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis from even before having a diagnosis to the present day has been a long old journey, one that has been full of ups and downs, so many I probably can't remember them all.
The symptoms of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis are vast, but most people are mainly aware of the visible symptoms. Severe physical pain. Painful, heavy periods. Bleeding mid-cycle. Fatigue and exhaustion. And so much more.
The mental and emotional impact of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis are as severe as the physical pain, if not worse.
Endometriosis can cause anxiety, depression, stress, frustration and so many more emotional problems. Endometriosis can seriously affect our mental and emotional health.
Sometimes it's hard to have any self-compassion. Endometriosis makes us hate ourselves and struggle to live the life we want.
Ever felt like you just want to live a normal life again? Or just for one day be pain free? Maybe even just have a normal, intimate relationship again?
I know I felt like that all the time! I wanted to get my energy back and be able to work on my career without being interrupted and distracted all day, you know?!
Is Endometriosis is causing you to have to try and balance the physical pain, emotional lows and fatigue while trying to have things like a normal relationship, intimacy, moving home, working or running your business, and if at all possible have some kind of social life as well?
Do Endometriosis and Adenomyosis ever feel like they're too much to handle?
I know how that feels! In fact, I initially ended up dealing with it so badly that for a long time, I stopped everything in my life, good and bad, and only focused on trying to deal with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis.
Endometriosis and Adenomyosis affects everything in our lives, from exercise and diet to our professional lives and even our relationships.
I completely closed myself off… from family, friends and even the online world.
I blamed my body and the fact that I was a woman for this mess I was in and for the excruciating pain that was terrorizing me.
I eventually became lost in a world of depression, anxiety, isolation and pain.
Maybe that's why you're here too...
Maybe you're tired of hearing so many stories that just never seem to have a happy ending?
It's difficult when few people really get just how you're feeling and what you're going through, let alone having any useful suggestions to actually start feeling better.
I refused to believe that there was so little I could do. I tried to beat Endometriosis, I tried so many ways to get better, but I failed just as many times.
These were lessons that I later realized would be just as valuable for my recovery.
But back then, Endometriosis was affecting me so badly that I had almost given up all hope.
I was just 26 but I had pretty much accepted the fact that I would have to wait until menopause to have some freedom from this pain and to have a ‘normal' life and relationship again!
But I found a way to live my life the way I want, mentally, emotionally and physically free from the pain of Endometriosis.
It's hard to find the words to express how happy I am that I managed to find a way to overcome this ‘phase' of my life and what's more,…
…I am finally able to say I am a stronger, more confident, healthier AND happier than I was even before Endometriosis took hold of my life!
It was a long journey that taught me so many unforgettable lessons about myself, about Endometriosis, Adenomyosis and life itself.
I created EndoFIT to be a powerful coaching platform for women with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis, to help other women beat the mental, emotional and physical effects of Endometriosis.
EndoFit teaches women how to live well with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis. EndoFIT also teaches women key techniques like how to manage Endometriosis pain, overcome Endo depression and anxiety and how to maintain a strong and loving relationship.
