Every night Hiccup wakes up in fear of the nightmare he has just witnessed. A being of evil is now haunting him both in his dreams and everyday life. He begins to wonder if the activity of this creature and the new, dragon-like ability he now possesses tie together. With Toothless by his side he now has to face this evil head on if he wishes to survive.

What if he lived out decades of his life in a simulation, only to be jolted awake and find that it all wasn't real?
