Sacuanjoche

A daughter of a Nicaraguan immigrant, is forced to navigate life on the East Side, ever since her mother forced her to work the counter job at the DX. Marieta is girlish and dreamy, and can't help but be smitten by her new coworker, Sodapop Curtis. Things become complicated when said blonde begins to date Marieta's sister, when an unnerving hood shows up at the gas station—out for revenge—and the young men of Tulsa anticipate the call for duty of the Vietnam War.

Miniskirts Forever

The Curtis' third child, Lizzy, went to live with her mother's cousin in Tennessee after her parent's accident. Thanks to a sympathetic social worker, she is allowed to return to Tulsa the summer after the deaths of Dallas and Johnny. Being away, and dealing with her parent's death alone, has changed her, and she's not willing to put up with Darry and Soda's rules without a fight. It's hard to know if her new friendship with the Shepard clan will be the start of her downward spiral, or her awakening, but she'll sure get her kicks in before the summer's over.

Miniskirts Forever reviews
"I didn't hear Soda get up to go back to his room, so I assumed he had stayed with Ponyboy...I kept running his words back and across my mind, "somethin' ain't right". I knew what he meant, and the answer made me sad, almost sadder than my parents being dead. He meant that I didn't feel right, that after all this time away, I wasn't like family anymore, I was an outsider." sis-fic.
