Author has written 2 stories for Hetalia - Axis Powers. WARNINGS: 1) Heavy sarcasm 2) Frequent attempts at writing like a Brit 3) Horrible butchery of languages (including some English, since I'm from southeastern America) 4) Language that may or may not resemble that of a sailor's… 5) Pretty heavy doses of insanity 'BUT'S: 1) I am very open to you guys' criticism and comments, and I will consider everyone's opinions on my style of writing. 2) I apologize, but I really love everything British. If any attempt at UK-English is a complete fail, then I will re-write it in US-English before posting it (and I'm usually very good at deciding whether my British is a fail or not). 3) Again, I'm sorry, but I'm not multilingual (though that'd be awesome), and I haven't started any foreign language classes because I'm only in eighth grade (only one more year to go, though!). 4) This one really can't be helped in the case of some characters. Other than that, I'll make sure to keep it as clean as possible and only as foul as necessary. 5) Tragically for all of us (well, mainly just you), there is no cure to the insanity. I'll try to tone it down, though. CURRENT FANDOMS: Mostly Hetalia, but sometimes Twilight or FullMetal Alchemist, though I've kinda lost interest in those ones. I've still got some stuff I wrote from back then that was never published and needs to be finished though, because a lot of it was genius-work and would physically hurt to abandon. NOTES ABOUT FANDOMS: A lot of my stories have OCs, and I apologize to those who don't like that. But my OCs almost never mess with canon pairings or events (except maybe in the case of Hetalia). So take a chill pill and give 'em a chance. Please. With that being said, don't be surprised to see characters for the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, and/or the Confederacy. A lot of those are practically canon anyway, so I'm good. My ideas for them won't be too different from what is popular, but there will be some ways that I portray them that may start cyber-wars among you people, including human-names. Yes, I use human-names; no, not excessively. If you're a nation's personification, you don't want people to know about it. If they do know about it, the world goes to hell. Because they're either jealous of you're almost-immortality, or they just to annoy you until you wish you could die. So human-names are used around humans, and between nations who are really close. On the topic of AUs: I don't usually write them, but I find it very difficult not to in Hetalia fandom. But that's okay, because the characters are awesome no matter what they're doing. PAIRINGS: Note: These are for Hetalia only. Any other fandoms' pairings aren't listed because they're either canon, not important in my fan-fictions,or just don't come to mind at this point in time. Some of these will differ slightly from what others use, but the explanations are listed. Will probably show up most (not in any particular order): America x Ireland: Himaruya once said Ireland would be a chick, and a crybaby one, at that. But whenever Ireland's written as a chick, she's portrayed as sort of a bitch, and I just don't like female!Ireland in general. So I write Ireland as a dude. And he's a very happy, welcoming dude--similar to America. And he's all about freedom--like America. And he hates England's guts--like America. Therefore, they are together based on their similarities in personalities, interests, and mutual hatred for a certain British country. 'Cause, to them, pissing England off is awesome. And I write a lot of WWII-Hetalia anyway, and the Irish-American alliance was pretty important back then. Just sayin'. Wales x New Zealand: Yes. Because I said so. True, Wales is the most tolerant of his brothers, and sometimes the sweetest (Northern Ireland sometimes competes with him for that spot). But I find him just a little more stoic than some people portray him: he gets along with England, but he's not running around as the man's slave and catering to his every whim because of his extreme devotion (once again, that's Northern Ireland…sort of). If he was allowed it, he'd happily take his freedom; he's just kind of gotten over it because he's not been sovereign in so long. So, under that mostly-happy-but-not-gushy exterior, there is some dark stuff. We can't forget that he was, is, and always will be a Celtic warrior. New Zealand's a little similar, in the sense that he's got his Maori-side. …Plus, they both love sheep! It just works! France x England: Muahahaha! Because I can't stand USUK; seems too incestual to me, despite the fact that America's technically no longer his brother. That doesn't change the fact that England still obviously sees him as a child. Same goes for Franada. England and France have history, anyway. A lot of it. And they're always together. I try to keep this as canon as I can stand, people. England only broke down at Yorktown because his little brother was leaving and his empire was starting to fall (we can't leave out that he's power-hungry--like France!) Besides, the interaction between these two is just plain hilarious. Germany x Italy: It's way too obviously canon not to. And Germancest and Itacest are gross. (Incest really isn't my thing, in case you haven't noticed.) Spain x Romano: Pretty much the same reasons as above. Greece x Japan: This one's pretty canon too, so I just threw it in there. Russia x China: Because Russia's obsessed with China, and China really shows no interest in anyone else, as far as I've seen. Some would say Japan, but that's still the whole incest-thing… Pairings that may never appear but are good to keep in mind: Austria x Hungary: Duh. Sweden x Finland: Duh. Again. Denmark x Norway: The little bit of interaction I've seen between them (admittedly, it was mostly in fandom) has been awesome. Iceland x Hong Kong: I don't know. I've seen it before. I kind of feel hypocritical, because I don't like Switzerland x Prussia and similar pairings, because it seems like people have just run out of nations to pair up and decided to throw them together. But that's pretty much what this is… They kind of remind me of each other in a way, though, in the little bit that I've seen them. Characters to be considered and later moved to the first group: - Confederacy: He's not like America. At least, not completely. He does like to have fun, and he does like helping people. But he doesn't blabber about being a hero--ever. That's just how he is: a hero under cover. He puts up with America, but they still fight enough that you can't ignore their past. You could think of an Australia; he's kind of like that. He doesn't talk like a goddamn hick, by the way. He's smart and sarcastic a good deal of the time, too. But he respects his elders, because he's a Southern gentleman (ha--like an English gentleman). At the same time, he's very rebellious, because he's the South and that's just how the South is. So, he's kind of complicated. He's America's older brother, but in present-day, they are both physically nineteen, despite him being thirteen years older in technical terms (Jamestown founded in 1607, Plymouth not until 1620). They're stages in physical age-development have been practically the same though, after those first few decades. - Canada: Most of you know Canada, obviously. But in my stories, don't imagine him with that (no offense, people) gay-ass voice off the anime. And he looks like he does in the manga in my world (purple eyes; longer, lighter, and wavier hair; etc). He's not forgotten quite so often anymore, by the way. AND HE'S NOT AMERICA'S BROTHER! Different last names, originally different appearances, different founding nations, etc. So if I so choose to do Confederacy x Canada, there's no incest there. Just sayin'. I can do FACE, but calling them actual brothers (especially twins) bugs me. - Scotland: You know Scotland too, for the most part. He loves drinking, loves messing with England (notice I didn’t say he actually hates his brother), used to bully said Englishman (not necessarily abuse). He wants his freedom more than the rest of the UK, but he's willing to stay because North doesn't want him to leave (and England has kind of grown on him, though he'll never admit it), and leaving would make them no more than allies, at best. He's friends with France, and can tolerate Ireland a little better (or a lot, in some cases) than the rest of the UK. In my world, he's not quite so mean. Everyone writes him as being cruel; Scots aren't like that. Don't get me wrong, they're great fighters. But they're like…big teddy bears in disguise. So yeah. He doesn't show it at first, but he's really a giant softy. It shows most around Northern Ireland, because he's like Scotland's personal version of America (except his colony stayed). - Australia: You pretty much know him, too. Seriously, people. He's Australia. Likes to drink, loves outdoors, friendly with everyone, etc. - Prussia: I'm not explaining this one. - Northern Ireland: Also 'Norn', short for 'Norn Iron'. He's my main character for the most part. He starts off as a pirate during the Ulster Plantation, and he travels with England and Scotland and Wales (so he's known the Americas and Canada forever). He used to be sweet like Wales and Canada and New Zealand, and he really paid attention to the deep stuff. In fact, he was often called a philosopher (because he's Irish whether he likes it or not). But after all the Belfast Blitz, the Troubles, and all his previous fighting with Ireland, he's now a 'schizophrenic terrorist'. So he's a little scared of himself and his own people (but he's on the Protestant side; he will forever be British). But, other than in Ireland's case, he doesn't hold grudges after a war is over. He still blames himself for the Belfast Blitz, but he's not really mad at Germany or other Axis members because of it. He doesn't mind France ('Froggy', as he calls him), but he'll always take England's side in a serious fight--even if it's against Scotland. And he draws a lot, though his images kind of take a dark turn sometimes… He's also really into music and writing and such (those can be dark, too). And he's pretty modern for a nation in the British Isles: he drinks coffee (he still drinks tea, mind you…and lots of alcohol, 'cause he doesn't get drunk), plays video games, trades music and movies with the Americas on occasion, etc. He's very paranoid when alone, but with people he likes, he's a whole different person. Still punky, still sarcastic and stuff, but not in a dark way. Anyway, he's presently kind of a tsundere character, but isn't as bad as England or Romano. Very sarcastic, very loyal to the British, very Brit-punk, very confident when around others (he's British, after all), very stubborn, very…troubled. He's cool, though, I swear. (You can tell I’ve focused on him a lot…) So, possible pairings I would use out of those characters would be: Confederacy x Canada: Sort of like America x Canada, but it makes a butt-load more sense to me and isn't as annoying for poor Canada. Confederacy x Northern Ireland: They get along surprisingly well. That, and I love my Northern Ireland character, and I'm from a Confederate State. Scotland x Canada: Scotland never directly raised Canada, therefore, it's not incestually gross. Scotland x Australia: Really, they'd be great drinking buddies and stuff. The Scots had a lot of influence on the Aussies, but it would usually be more thought of that England raised him. Australia x Canada: They're both Commonwealth, both have their awesome wildlife, both kind of…work together. Again, like America x Canada, just not so annoying. Australia x Northern Ireland: This was how I had it when Northern Ireland was initially thought up, just so I didn't have to get mixed up in this crap yet. Ulster-Scots had influence in Australia too, and in my world, Ulster kind of grew up with him--he was older, but barely a teen if at all, so they got along with Norn watching after him… But then again, they were both (partially) raised by England, so that'd kinda be that dreaded incest (Canada's different because he was originally France's)… I don't know… And Ulster will get along with almost anyone in the Commonwealth, so that might just be a very close friendship thing… Prussia x Canada: I know people like this one, and I did too, but I also have other ideas that I love just as much, if not more. It was an awesome pairing, and then I made OCs… Prussia x Northern Ireland: Give it a chance. They really actually get along…sort of (on account of tsundere-ishness and awesomeness fights). There's a bit of angst because of the whole Blitz thing, but that's part of what makes it good. And I noticed a pattern: every Bad Touch Trio member would have a tsundere! (I'm so corny sometimes…) And Prussia's easy-going enough to influence Northern Ireland in a good way. They kind of get each other, in the sense that neither actually owns their own land anymore (granted neither cares too much). And they're both really protective of their brothers… I really do like this one though, I'll be honest. I almost feel like I should just make it official and forget everyone else's opinions. In fact, I just might. But not right now. Oh, and there's also Canada x Northern Ireland/Northern Ireland x Canada. I really don't know which way that one would go, but that pairing would work really well (the only problem: so would a lot of others). It was the second one that I thought up that involved Northern Ireland, but now I don't know… And that's about it. Suggestions are appreciated, but don't be offended if I wind up doing something different. I'm very indecisive. Thank you for your time. ~ Captain Starrburst McCrackney |
