Long Bio

I signed up because I was inspired by other fanfictions on this site and started writing one of my own, and I wanted to publish it to see what you guys thought. It's called The Choir and is a work-in-progress, I've so far written about 4 chapters, but I've put it on hiatus for the moment so I can edit it to adapt to the Granger Enchanted Eighth Year Itch Challenge. I've also written several oneshots for competitions and starting another multichapter once the oneshot as it currently stands is judged/shown to my English teacher, and I'm currently writing up the first few chapters of a Marriage Law fic (I know, I know! It's been done before..!) My primary aim writing here on FF.net is to gain feedback on my writing - I love long reviews and constructive criticism! However, any flames will be used to toast marshmallows.
I've also entered two competitions, the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes Competition and the HP Spells Competition, which I am in the middle of uploading the oneshots for, and a quite a few others on the HPFC forum (I've listed them at the bottom).
I Beta/have Beta'd for J.F.C., boxcat, T. A. Griffy, wandwaving101, LunaticFlower and ClaireBear1982 who are all awesome writers, and I'm accepting other requests too so just PM me if you need something Beta'd.
I've uploaded my own competitions, called the 40 Characters, 20 Pop Songs Competition and the [Varying Degrees of Famous Musicians] Inspiration Competition, on the HPFC Forum. Please check them out, I hope they're better than they sound! Not many people have signed up yet so I'll probably have to extend the deadline :(

I'm 14 years old, I live in the UK and although this is an American website according to Wikipedia I will be using the Queen's English in my stories! No offence to you guys across the pond but the way you spell colour is a pet hate of mine, along with the way you call jam jelly and jelly jello - why??? (However I will Beta according to American spellings if asked!)
*Another pet hate I have is when people spell my name without the A, as Rachel. I don't think it looks right but still, I hate my parents as I've had to argue with teachers my entire life. Not very fun - a bit depressing really! Oh well, it's a conversation starter.

I think I'm a little bonkers but I'm fairly intelligent too; I just started taking my GCSE's so this is kind-of my release therapy I think. Is that the right way to put it? I don't know. Not many of my friends know about my writing of fanfiction - I think maybe one of them suspects but other than that not even my mum knows! My English teacher knows about it, but that's it. I guess that makes it a secret obsession of mine. Kind-of. Yes, obsession is the right word. EDIT: No longer secret! And my friends don't think I'm as weird as I thought they would! :D
I love art, music, riding my grandma's horses, creative writing and of course reading! I want to work in some sort of publishing when I'm older. My favourite books are all the Harry Potters, the Hunger Games series and the Inheritance Cycle (the Eragon books!). I also love the book Divergent and can't wait to see the film/get my hands on the next in the series! The fanfictions I'm currently writing (there are several) are based on Harry Potter.
I'm also RachaelHasAnA on deviantART (someone took RachaelWithAnA - grrrr!) but I haven't done much on there yet. Hopefully I'll be uploading some stuff pretty soon.

Hopefully all you lovely people will review my stories and PM me if you want, odds are I'll reply as not many people talk to me on here... Joking! Major deliberate guilt trip there. But Siriusly, (pun intended) not many people review or PM me so feel free to drop me a line!

I am the girl that doesn't go to school dances, or games, and when I do go, I sit in a corner and read a book. I am the girl that people look through when I say something. OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get Parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

I am not a prolific author. I am not rich. I am not famous across the globe, or at all if I'm honest.

Therefore, I own nothing but the plot, the actual writing (duh) and any OCs mentioned or used in my fanfictions.

Just thought I should put this on my profile in the likely event it's missing from a fic, 'cause I'm a bit ditzy like that!
