Incorruptible Pure Pureness Older hero VS Younger villain Purple Prose Überwald Victorian London Some random thoughts: I hate horror, I LOATHE torture porn, but despite my problems with the scripts, I adore the look and atmosphere of old Hammer Gothic. Brilliantly lush Brides of Dracula (1960) is best movie ever! I rarely watch post-1960s movies. I dont watch modern TV shows, although It seems that South Park (which sounds a cesspool of juvenile scatology) shows children realistically. I like Les Miserables. No, it is not Cosettes fault that Marius fell in love with her. I feel for Eponine, though - she was a bullying little snot but then became a damn tragic character - and I hope her all the best. Favorite performer of oddly sympathetic revolutionary Enjolras: Tie between Aaron Tveit and David Thaxton. Phantom of the opera is not high art - sorry, middle-brow crowd - but both the stage show and the 2004 movie are gorgeous, entertaining and fun chocolate-box musicals. And no, Carlotta is NOT the bad guy in Phantom of the opera. PHANTOM is -a tragic monster. Favorite couples: Enjolras/Grantaire OK, Brick- Enjolras is probably aromantic asexual - or more like beautiful, pure idea, not a young man - and he doesnt even like R (who can be pain in the neck until in the end when he notices that R is more than cynical, Nihilistic drunk. They have no sexual relationship. R loves E, and he dies with him. Now what kind of love it is? French words for love does not show difference between agape ( love for spouse, family, humanity or God), philos (friendship, brotherhood) and eros, sexual love. Grantaire just loves Revolutionary leader whose name I cannot pronounce, loves so much that he dies with Revololutionary leader whose name I cannot pronounce. Jehan Prouvaire/Enjolras Very rare ship but I like it! Jehan Prouvaire/Anyone who is good to him He is so shippable and adorable Romuald/Clarimonde La morte amoureuse Alex DeLarge/Sewer/Ludovico treatment This guy is as interesting and sympathetic as sewage.
