Nothing can compare to the written word. Whether it be the blight of the everyday rustic or the melodious writings of the refined classics from days gone by, words are beautiful. Images and sounds, emotions and thoughts, whole worlds can be captured using pen and paper. And that is why I write.

A lay person sees the world as a place to live in. A writer sees a series of opportunities. But it takes a truly great writer to pick out the ones that make the words flow.

A little bit about me...

I'm a writer, a philosopher, a debater, a reader and a beta for several authors. I took part in the MS Readathon for five years straight, have been a member of the Gold Star Reading Club for two years, have Quentin Bryce in a reading conference, have written two series and countless stand-alones. I founded what is now known as Firefly Books Publishing Co. a year ago and am now head writer and beta.

I would love it if you reviewed and favourited my fics. It's much appreciated. And to all the voiceless people who read without a say, this is for you.

I dedicate what I write to my friends and favourite authors, Mai Lynn Bennet, Miss Munchk1n, Lauren Low, Saving the Princess, Scarlett Razor, and recently discovered writer, Guardira. You people are fabulous.

I try to update as regularly as possible! I'm finding it lovely to update Sparks weekly, around Tuesday. Everything else is all over the place.

I like to get to know my readers. If you review then I'll click on your profile to see what you're into. Knowing your audience is one of the first steps to great writing. I try my best. ;D

Callia walked into the library to find Felony tapping away at the keyboard. She wandered up behind her padawan. "So, how ya going?"

Felony's only reply was a stiff nod as she continued to type with lightning-fast fingers.

Callia bent over to read the screen. "'Question fourteen: You have been part of an elite group that has been assigned to the task of saving the people of Mocceen, a peaceful planet. They are under siege from enemy forces. You are locked in combat with an enemy agent, but suddenly, they take a civilian child hostage and promise that if you surrender, then they will let the child walk free. How do you respond, and why?'" She continued to read her answers before closing her eyes in frustration. "Felony…"

"What?" her padawan looked up in alarm. "Have I done something wrong?"

Callia shook her head and brought her hand to her temple. "You wouldn't just let them kill the child and save yourself! What were you thinking?"

"But what's the point in surrendering? The child will just get killed anyway. I know these people Callia, and they wouldn't just follow the rules. I might as well be useful and live on another day. So tell me, what would you do?"

"We’re Jedi. The lives of the innocent are way more important than us. If we have a choice between the world or us, we always pick what's for the good of everyone. Even if it's just ourselves or one small child. We always come second."

"But what happens if…" Felony stopped, irritated.

Her master sat beside her in frustration. "Felony, let me put it to you like this," she began. "If I were about to be shot, would you sacrifice yourself for me?"

Felony looked down at the ground and said in a small voice, "That's different."

"How? Tell me how it's different to letting you die instead of me."

"Because… because it just is, okay? Why do you have to be so blindly good all the bloody time? I don’t understand it at all! It wasn't even a fair question!"

"Princess, it's a theory exam, I'm sure it's been-"

She was cut off, "Okay then, if you think that’s fair, then how about this: if you had to choose between saving Obi-Wan or I, who would you pick? Who would you condemn to die? Who, Callia?"

Callia glared at her. "That's not fair on me or you, Felony, I don't know why-"

"You're avoiding the question. Who?"

"Because I can’t choose. Even if I didn’t know you, I still couldn’t choose. I can’t be that selfish and just condemn someone to die because I don’t love them the same way."

Felony opened her mouth to reply but presently shut it again and rested her head on the desk in her arms. "And here I thought I was good at theory," she mumbled through a sea of tangled hair.
