You’ve most likely stumbled upon this profile because I’ve sent you or your friend a flame or harsh constructive criticism. Don’t bother sending me a private message or review reply. I won’t answer it. Simply head to my forum and complain about your inability to write in the proper thread. Now, some of you are probably thinking that I’m a Flame Rising copycat. You could say that, but I do things differently. I admire his work and find him to be entertaining, but I'm more of a critic. I offer more than flames. I don’t personalize flames. I do, however, personalize harsh constructive criticism. The differences between the two are as follows: A FLAME is a message that contains non-specific criticism of the work. It is always negative and insults the work rather than criticizing it. A HARSH CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM is a review that harshly points out specific mistakes and does, occasionally, mention some positive things about the work. It may also give advice on how to improve the work. I do give positive reviews for stories I find outstanding. These stories will be added into an archive. Because flames are non-specific, I will list the reasons why I flamed someone below. This list will sound familiar as other flamers use similar criteria. 1) You don’t use paragraphs properly (block paragraphs). 2) Your spelling and grammar are atrocious. 3) You can’t use dialogue properly at all. (No quotations, not starting a new paragraph when needed, etc.) 4) Your story is in violation of the Terms of Service (TOS). These stories will also be reported. 5) Your story is entirely original characters and barely mentions canon characters. Most works I flame will fall under more than one of the above reasons listed (with the exception of number two). If I flame it for any other reason, I’ll be sure to state it in the review. If anyone wants their story removed from my “Best of the Best” archive, please tell me in my forum. |
