Dislikes in Naruto Stories:

– Over used/ exaggerated dojutsus

o The idea of Naruto gaining the Sharingan other than transplant or birth is unrealistic to the point that it is borderline even in the realm of fanfiction. Both science in real life and in Naruto canon it is unclear if Biju can or cannot influence the body (other than through hate or deep emotion, in Naruto’s case) aka genes of their host post sealing.

o The over exaggeration of the powers of dojutsus is really annoying at times.

§ The powers of each dojutsus are clear.

· The Sharingan has three stages that are completely clear

o Sharingan-1st stage (copy wheel eye)

o Mangeyko Sharingan (kaleidoscope eye)

§ Generally achieved through the death of a close friend through murder or the killing of one’s brother

· Murder:

o Ex: Danzo steal’s Shuisi’s eye before Shuisi could use the kotoamasuki to prevent the Uchiha Clan’s Coup de Tat. Shuisi then commits suicide after giving Itachi his remaining eye thus giving Itachi

· Killing one’s brother

o Ex:

§ Madara and Izuna

§ Sasuke and Itachi

§ Gives exonentially more power than the base level

· Amaterasu

· Kamui

· Susanoo

· Tsukuyomi

· Kotoamatsukami

– Pet peeves of Naruto stories

o Naruto being neglected by his parents (if they lived and had other children)

§ Though it makes a good story still very hard to completely understand at times

o Authors using a complete chapter as an announcement then writes the next chapter without removing the announcement thus off setting the actual amount of chapters

o Authors that write a really interesting story then end up never saying in an announcement that he is rewriting or abandoning the story.
