Mikasa has been so used to sharing a bed with Eren that when she gets a nightmare about her past, she goes to find the only person who can reassure her that everything was okay, that they were fighting together and for a reason; and that she'll always have him to keep her warm. Set during their military training.

Armin sees it first. The forest of trees is thinning, and there's a bright light at the end, and he catches the glimmers of blue and gold streaming through. He turns around, his blue eyes sparkling. In the end, it was her death that clarified things for Eren.

"It's okay to cry sometimes, alright? You don't have to fight all the time, that's why I'm here." He smiled, bumping their heads together. "Don't be stupid and keep it all in. There's not a lot to be smiling about, but you should do it more. I like it when you smile."
