The world knows much of Kazama Chikage. He is a ruthless, arrogant creature, whose power is rivaled by few. But before the battle-lines of the Bakumatsu had been drawn, he was already a warrior who held the destiny of his family on his shoulders. What led him to such a path, and what caused him to walk it willingly? Prequel to The Quest: 薄桜鬼追迹录 Hakuouki Tsuisekiroku.

This fanfiction is dedicated to Kazama Chikage, the storyline starts after Kazama left in Memories of the Shinsengumi. Finally Kazama and Chizuru are able to be together, forever. Kazama needs more love too :D

When Chizuru takes Kazama's hand, and agrees to be his wife, the Shinsen-Gumi embark on a quest to bring her back from Kazama. Little do they realize that Kazama himself is on a quest, in ways that he had never imagined, while Chizuru finds that there was more to herself than she had thought. A slightly AU take on the ending of Hakuouki. Chizuru X leading men
