![]() Jedi Master Luthien here- otherwise known as Luthi. Despite the name, I am neither Force-sensitive nor from Doriath, although in another universe I may be partially Elven. The world will never know. In this reality, I'm a fairly normal 26-year-old with a BA in history and technical theatre. I'm also entering law school as of August 2015. Much to my distress, I have a limited desire to engage in actual social interaction. INTJ for the win... I guess. I stress-bake and stress-paint, and am rather talented with a sewing machine and with a pottery wheel, if I do say so myself. I'm a very random person who confuses herself and those around her quite frequently, partially due to the fact that she talks out loud to herself without realizing it. She also randomly begins referring to herself in the third person. My best friend refers to me as a more socially-aware Sheldon Cooper, and other friends have called me Sherlock and Spock. I tend toward having an obsessive personality and research things to death when I become interested in them. This includes draining fandoms dry of good fanfiction. (And then, as the tumblr post has it, returning to the top of the list with lower standards.) Outside of this lovely site (with "lovely" being subjective), my interests would be historical fashion, ceramics, sewing, history in general, and watching far too much YouTube. I'm a tumblr aficionado, but avoid the political and social-justice areas of the site. (Just let me look at my Steve Rogers pictures in peace!) I spend an inordinate amount of time hanging around The Sue Free Zone, participating in the randomness that goes on there and generally having a good time. I don't like spiders or snakes, despise Mary-Sues on principle as I consider them lazy writing, and also am not too fond of high, open-air spaces. I do occasionally dabble in fanfic authorship, but it never reaches a stage of completion at which it would be readable. MSTs, on the other hand, I've done aplenty. Check mine out sometime if you get really, really bored. They're good for a laugh- especially if you like fire ants. I dislike the majority of the changes made in the Hobbit movies, as I consider them unnecessary and damaging to the narrative. I also detest temperatures in excess of 120 degrees Fahrenheit, eggs cooked by themselves in any way, shape or form, and the general opinion that Arwen saved Frodo from the Ringwraiths. Glorfindel gets no love, and it's sad. My fandoms of the moment are Tolkienverse (I'm partial to happy YotT and First Age fics), Dragon Age (mostly DA2), and Skyrim. I randomly poke into the Star Wars archives on occasion, and have been known to sneak peeks at Magic School Bus fanfiction every so often. I also prowl into other archives, but generally don't find anything that piques my interest. I heavily fangirl Atton Rand, Captain America, Dean Winchester, Fenris, Glorfindel (the one and only), Han Solo, and Maedhros Feanorion. This list is in alphabetical order, as putting these characters in any other sort of order would be like choosing between my children. Modern AUs are a favorite of mine, as are BioWare novelizations with multiple protagonists, and I'll read anything featuring Maedhros that doesn't involve slash. (I'm one of the few who's not a Maedhros/Fingon shipper - they ARE cousins.) One thing highly uncanonical I like to read is Atton Rand/Revan stories, especially those taking place after KotOR II. I haven't found many, but they're rather awesome. Stories that involve Glorfindel annoying the heck out of Erestor are always good for a giggle. I also enjoy Fenris/F!Tabris and Fenris/Merril, both of which are highly uncanonical. So shoot me. Some favorite quotes: "And now I come in, saying something suitably heroic." -Atton Rand "How can you hate chocolate? Everybody at least tolerates it!" -Ned the Pie Maker "You are the best Septim that's ever ruled. Well, except for that Martin fellow, but he turned into a dragon god, and that's hardly sporting." -Sheogorath "Your talk of sniffing riders with invisible noses has unsettled me." -Pippin "[Mages] may not all be evil, but one of them in particular is extremely annoying." -Fenris "You sat there so gently and offered pancakes." -Toby Turner |
