I'm a currency trader. I started my career as an electrical engineer for a fortune 500 company where I worked for over 15 years. About 10 years ago, I started options trading part-time and gradually moved into currency trading. I have since left my day job and currently trading forex and options as a full-time trader. These days, I also help to run an investment group dedicated to currency and options trading. I help to maintain a website where traders can meet to discuss options and forex trading strategies. Although our trading group has a varied background, many of us tend to have some common educational trading threads. That is, many of us have developed our trading strategies based on the forex income engine study course by Bill Poulos and options trading techniques from options university. Despite the fact that these two educational systems were designed for two different markets, the underlying trading techniques are very similar. For instance, the Bill Poulos Forex Income Engine study program is based on technical analysis and learning how to trade with discipline. Likewise, Ron Ianieri’s option trading techniques at optionsuniversity.com are based on the same principles. These trading educational courses are based on stock pattern recognition (or charting analysis) of price and volume movements. These swing trading techniques revolve around the technical indicators such as the elliott wave principle, the moving averages, oscillators and the fibonacci sequence. Perhaps they are different in name only, but many of us owe our successes to these educational programs. |
