Author has written 1 story for Pokémon.

UPDATE: 6/20/11: To those who actually check this:

Chapter's not finished and won't be completed for a while. I only have two inappropriate excuses: (1) broken computer (2) final exams

Profile Information is currently UNDER CONSTRUCTION. No edits/updates are final versions.

Oh, and in case people haven't realised this yet, I have resumed working on Perfect World. Expect an official update relatively soon. More information will be posted on this profile in the future, but I prefer to update as I type.

Formerly Mr. Anon, Co-Author of Perfect World, by Shadow-Aura-Knight, you may now call me Not Espeon, official Author of Perfect World, by Not Espeon. I have decided not to connect this new story with my previous ones. If you have specific questions regarding the rebirth of Perfect World, please contact me.

I do not give out e-mail addresses except under special conditions, but feel free to PM me (or even review a chapter).

Regarding my new name:The name "Not Espeon" was given to me by an associate of mine. Thus, I plan on using it until further notice.

If you have a plot idea or character design that you wish to share with me and perhaps even offer to me to use, then please send me a PM. I love to take suggestions; it is far easier to write with an idea of the audience's preferences.

My Position on Anonymous Reviews

I have them disabled. Why? I disabled them because I believe that they are useless except for spammers and flamers.

I believe that there should be a strong connection between the reader and the writer. The reader should strive to improve with advice and input from the readers, and the readers should feel a sense of enjoyment and satisfaction from reading, almost as if it was a more social activity. When a reader writes a chapter review, the writer can write a review reply to respond. If the reader is dissatisfied or does not agree with or understand a particular aspect of the story, the writer should be able to provide some kind of explanation and/or assistance.

In an Anonymous review, it is not possible to respond. This means that a reader could write something offensive, insulting, or disrespectful, and still get away with it. In other words, they are not a part of this community; they are just a visitor. This lack of communication is not something that I wish to support.

One might point out that an anonymous reviewer can provide an e-mail address for contact. However, who would ever do that, and has anyone actually seen this happen? Why would a reader give their e-mail address to a complete stranger? If they are that lenient with their online information, they might as well make a FanFiction account; no personal information is collected anyways. Furthermore, there are so many benefits to having an account, such as update alerts and story-favouriting. It's unrealistic to maintain a positive relationship without actually having an account through which connections can be established.

I will gladly listen to any other position regarding the matter.

My Position on Swearing and Other Vulgar Language (Particularly in Perfect World)

I do not swear, nor do I curse. I avoid and do not really approve the use of vulgar language, especially as standard expressions in normal everyday conversations. However, as some readers may have noticed, several characters in Perfect World frequently use words such as "f*k" and "sh*t". This is merely characterisation.

One does not need to use vulgar language to express discontent. There are several other words that may be used as replacements. However, language is nonetheless a form of communication. Those under extreme conditions may choose to use such words. Of course, this is a personal choice. Certain characters in my story swear when faced with severe emotional/mental anxiety. Some characters may curse more naturally, and in such cases the words are part of the personal vocabulary. However, there are, and will continue to be, characters who never swear at all. A character's diction most often reflects a specific personality. Therefore, the use of such language in my story is intended to be a device. A writer's own discussion topics and overall style do not necessarily need to directly relate to the writer's own opinions and beliefs. For example, my use of vulgar language in Perfect World does not necessarily mean that I frequently use such language in personal dialogue.

I never intended Perfect World to be a cheerful, uplifting tale for young children. Vulgar language has become common and standard in our everyday society. Accordingly, I do not believe that it is incorrect to employ such words in a story to portray characters as people with unique, human personalities. Basically, I don't swear, but my characters do.

If you have any further questions or seek to discuss this topic with me, feel free to send a PM. If I feel that a point is particularly relevant, I will add it to this explanation. Thank you for the support.

Character Design Submission

I am slightly unsure of this, but I am willing to listen to ideas for secondary/supporting characters. I already have designs for all of my main characters and recurring antagonists. However, a Pokemon League journey isn’t necessarily a brief one; my characters will encounter many people along their journey. Some of these characters will only appear in one chapter, but other more detailed ones may appear multiple times throughout the story. I will give credit to the character’s designer when the character first appears.

However, keep in mind that these characters should not have complex backgrounds, for they are merely secondary. Thus, I will not have enough time to perform extensive character development. A method to circumvent this restriction is writing a cross-over chapter with me, which I am also open to. If the characters in your story are at the same location as the characters in mine, we could each write different perspectives of the events. (Don’t fill out a form if you want a cross-over; just send me a PM instead.)

Here’s the form. I won’t necessarily accept every design, but I will definitely read all of them. Please submit them through a PM; do not include them in a Chapter Review.
