Fitzwilliam Darcy is delayed until November for his 1812 trip to Rosings, so he has not seen or heard any news of the inhabitants of Hertfordshire for a year. He encounters something at Rosings that leaves him badly shaken, and starts him to a journey he could not have imagined.

Darcy was raised by his uncle to be charming, flirtatious and keep a mistress. However he wouldn't let his uncle pick his next mistress for him. This time he'd find his own girl. Elizabeth was poor after her father's death and barely respectable after Lydia married a thickly muscled blacksmith. But Elizabeth always believed she and Jane would marry for love...

As suggested in the title of Jane Austen's original work, Darcy's greatest failing is pride. His passionate love for Elizabeth only mitigates this character flaw, resulting in the awful proposal at Hunsford. If happenstance forced Darcy to marry Elizabeth before he loved her, or even knew her at all, would he ever be able to get past his pride to recognise his fortune?

The overlooked and locked away daughter of the Bennet family attains happiness when the intrigued Duke of Derbyshire discovers the hidden gem that she is. When the truth of her origins come to light, will it destroy the happiness she so dearly cherishes? *Some sexual and violent scenes are depicted*

While visiting Lambton, with the Gardiners, Elizabeth is mistaken for Miss Darcy and kidnapped along with Mr. Darcy. The two of them must work together to endure an unpleasant situation.
