Skye's soulmark is such a common phrase that she's pretty much given up on ever finding her soulmate - until the day she begins to suspect that she already has. And it's the last person she would have expected. Soulmates AU, but canon-compliant, with some spoilers through 2x16 and wild, baseless speculation for future events.

An AU story wherein after mastering her new powers, Skye bumps into the X-Men... and meets her soulmate. Vaguely futurefic - spoilers for AoS s2e10. This story mixes comic, tv and movie canon. Which probably means it's not entirely true to any of them. I hope that doesn't stop you from enjoying it.

When Skye has nowhere else to turn, Ward is there for her and she realizes that life isn't a fairy-tale and love isn't perfect.

So, here's an idea that I had. Skye is Tony's daughter and Bruce Banner was behind the T.A.H.I.T.I. project that brought Coulson back from the dead.
