This is the typical girl next door story, but with Aria and Ezra it might not be so typical. AU/No Alison or A. If you read my other version of this, this is an updated one and the writing is much more solid and developed, and the themes are a little more adult, especially as the story progresses. Aria Montgomery is a popular writer for an online college eBook community called HollisWrites, where she meets a mysterious individual named "E" who hates her writing. Still in high school, she can keep writing her stories on the college website so long as her identity is kept hidden. However, she and E develop a love-hate relationship and Aria must decide if anonymity is worth it.

After a life changing event, Aria moves from her small town to the big city. She runs into Ezra Fitz, but how will he impact her life? Is he really as bad as everyone says? Aria's ready for some changes but is she ready for him?

A college student moves into the room next to the dorm 14-year-old Aria lives in with her father, the Dean of Massey College. Slowly but surely, the two develop a close friendship. Soon after, Aria moves to Iceland with her father and Ezra lands a teaching job at a high school. When she returns as a mature 16 year old, Aria discovers that her new teacher is more than just that.
