![]() God, I forgot this account existed. I haven't touched this in over a year, mostly due to just forgetting how to login. Let’s get some things out of the way first. I will be deleting the stories I worked on. The main reason being that looking at it makes me cringe, and, from what I remember, its plot was either non-existent, riddled with holes, or misspelled to all hell. I’ll keep the format for this bio that was here originally just for those who remember it. ”Where were you?” I was just living my life. I improved my relationships with the people around me, advanced in my career, and ultimately just spent my days off enjoying time with friends. This account, and my previous exploits, completely faded from my memory. “Will you write stories again?” Eh, that’s a mixed bag. As I mentioned before, I’ve deleted my previous writings, so any hope of continuing those is down the drain, and for good reason. That reason being that I think the story was shit. Anyways, as for writing new stories, I’ve been thinking about it. Like most people in their late 20’s, I grew up with Pokémon. I caught, battled, and traded my way up to the top. The top being the top of my friend groups at the time. I wasn’t a great battler by any means, just a dumb kid who thought earthquake was the best move to spam in every battle. As time went on, Pokémon evolved (shocking), and so did I. I never really let go of my roots, and was an avid watcher of the anime (it could’ve been better), the games (felt like it took a dip in X/Y and a downwards spiral afterwards), and the subsequent spin offs. At the time of writing this, I just finished watching Detective Pikachu (great movie, really recommend it to be honest). I’m rambling here so let’s get to the chase. After all these years of following Pokémon as an avid fan and playing rom hacks/fan games such as Pokémon Uranium/ Pokémon Reborn (amazing games, please do look at them), I felt a bit discontent with the state of Pokémon lore as a whole. There was such a lack of realism in the official games (who would’ve guessed). As a result, I want to create a universe where everything is more solidified, a Pokemon universe where the moves have actual stakes, where legendary Pokémon are truly powerful, where Pokémon are treated as tools, partners, and everything in between, not to mention, a world where Pokédex entries aren’t written by prepubescent 10 year olds. Not in the “I’m a Pokémon researcher,” kind of way, but in a way that realistically brings these creatures to life. “Who even are you?” If this is the first thing that popped into your head when you came across my profile/story, then my apologies. This is an account from years past, an outlet for my Pokémon fantasies, both real and imaginary. I’m just a regular person trying to write and let out some creativity that’s been bottled up for the past few years of my life. “Are you that hot shit to need to explain your life story on a website you haven’t been on in years?” To be honest, no. Frankly, I have no idea if my vision is even in demand here. But in a way, I wouldn’t be doing this specially so others would agree with me, but more so to finally realize my thoughts and ideas in ways I couldn’t have done before. I’m just some nobody in some city on the coast that’ll fade away into the background when I die. Hell, I don’t even know how much this website has changed in the years I’ve been gone. If this gains any kind of following, I might move my stories to my own website specially for this to survive. A testament of my hubris. If it crashes and dies, so be it. At least I tried, yeah? “What kind of content would you be writing?” Personally, my ideal writing would weave reality into the Pokémon universe (I’d have to retcon a few things, mainly how certain moves work, their range/real world impact, Pokédex entries, Pokemon/Type interactions, as well as translate Power, PP, Accuracy, Experience, levels, Evolution, EV’s, IV’s, Breeding, HP, and stats into real world things that either can be calculated, or can’t be) but not shy away from the darker side of humans and their interactions with these creatures. Nerd shit aside, I also want to include the more intimate side of relationships of humans and Pokémon, without it appearing forced or shoehorned in. This might put off some people, but these creatures aren’t just brain dead animals that live to serve, these are creatures that struggle to survive every day. Pokémon have complex emotions and thoughts that are rarely expressed or even considered, and to not include the more physical side of relationships with these creatures would be a disservice and a detraction from I strive to create. That being said, from what I remember this website doesn’t allow things beyond a certain rating, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it, yeah? Lastly, as I mentioned before, this will still be a story with a central character(s) that we'll follow as they go about their journey. Reality and storytelling intertwined. “How often will you update and post new chapters?” Really asking the hardball questions, eh? To be honest, I haven’t the foggiest idea. These are all thoughts in my head, dreams of mine. I’m a lazy cunt that lounges around if given the opportunity, but my resolve is to change that with the start of this story. Chapter updates might take around a month. My usual gripe with stories is that I’ll end up reading them quickly, and from the time I finish to the time they update, I might have forgotten this character’s name or small nuances of the plot that would come into effect later. The only to solve this, in my opinion, would be to release multiple chapters all in one go. Writing is a weird process, and can be easy or difficult depending on what one is trying to express and the experience one has in that particular area. At least that’s how I view it. I may not stick to that, chucking out chapters every week like a mindless drone, but I feel like that would lower the quality of the content as a whole, and the chapters would be too small or too infrequent. I am thinking about making a story that's just full of Pokédex entries that I personally touched up on. Mostly so it isn't full of things that would break the world, such as Marcargo being 18,000 degreesFahrenheit. I'll try adding in entries that matter into the story as well just so it can come into play as the story unfolds. Now, all that aside, if there’s anything you wish to tell me, ask me, recommend me to do/fix, or any other general concerns, feel free to DM me. While I don’t plan to let readers guide everything in my story, I’d be a fool to ignore what people think. Arrogance has taken down plenty before me, and it will continue to take those after me. With that out of the way, it’s time to introduce you to my vision. Welcome to the world of Pokémon. |
