![]() Author has written 10 stories for Naruto, Death Note, Pokémon, Bleach, Psycho-Pass/サイコパス, Dragon Ball Z, Assassin's Creed, and Terror in Resonance/残響のテロル. Yeah, SomeDamn Author here. Basics: I've not been WRITING fanfiction for long. I've been reading fanfiction since I was twelve, and I still do, even to this day. I might be described as 'the guy who doesn't give a damn', because I'm usually emotionless and aloof. However, my close friends will know that I'm not as stoic as I seem to be. I don't talk that much, and I have a high tolerance level, in terms of patience. I don't lose my temper at all, and even if I do, I don't show it. I try to be nice to everyone, even if they're rude. I've never fought physically with anyone, nor have I shouted. However, when speaking, I tend to swear a lot, something that I seem to have inherited from my mother. I'm clumsy and very forgetful. I was famous when I was young for being the guy who forgot his schoolbag at home on the day of the exam. I'm the guy who usually hunts for hours for a pen I've lost, only to realize it's been in my pocket all the while. I'm certainly not a cleanliness-freak, but I always love my desk uncluttered, and there's almost always blank paper on my desk, unless I have people over at my place. The papaer helps a lot to put down anything, really, be it ideas or just a cool sounding phrase. I'd recommend having a small flip-pad at your desk too. especially if you are a fanfiction author. Likes: I'm in an eternal relationship with coffee, we make passionate love at least thrice a day, more, if I have the day off. My hobbies would include reading, writing fanfiction, gaming (PC), writing the occasional not-that-great poetry, watching anime and football (soccer). I support Chelsea FC, and my favorite footballer...well, I don't know, I like a bunch of them. Ah, I also love playing the guitar. I still meet up with my band-mates and jam. It's a great way of communication, and lots of fun. I try to practice seriously for an hour a day, or more, if my schedule permits. I've been playing for seven years now. Ah...reading. I'm a huge LOTR fan, having read everything to do with them. Still not watched the movies though! I know, right? (Edit : I have, now. Holy shit) I've also read the ever-jaw-dropping 'A Song Of Ice And Fire' , by George R.R Martin, Game Of Thrones, for those who watch the T.V Series. Eagerly awaiting 'Winds Of Winter'. Other than that, as for fiction, I read Archer, Grisham, Dan Brown, Ayn Rand...among other stuff. I tell myself I'm pretty stagnant in terms of music. My range is not that high. I listen to a lot of Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold and many other mainstream metal/hard-rock bands out there. Linkin Park were my childhood favorites, though I grew out of them. Still, I purchased 'The Hunting Party', and I'm still being blown away, even on the 9999th listen. There's also old-school bands like Pink Floyd, Soundgarden and the likes, still sounding fresh, heavy and all-round awesome all the way in 2014. My favorite band out of them all'd be Kamelot. It's not that much of a well-known band, but they play Symphonic Metal, and I fell in love with them the very first time I heard them. LISTEN TO THEM! Other than these, I listen to Alternative, progressive rock and the occasional Death Metal. As for other artistes, I love Regina Spektor, John Mayer, Shane Alexander, and so on. Check these guys out if you have the time. Now, I mentioned I'm a shabby eater, but I love anything spicy. I can usually eat without flinching what others would take quite a few sips of Coke for. Dislikes: Well now, this is a pretty serious topic, isn't it. I'll go all Zen at this point. The one thing I despise, and I mean absolutely, is hypocrisy. I don't know why, it's kinda' strange, but there you have it, I do. I dislike people who assert their views too much. I dislike tea. We just don't see eye-to-eye. Oh, and another thing that'll convince you I'm either insane or utterly stupid, I dislike chocolate and Ice-cream. I can eat them, but I don't enjoy them at all. I know, I've recieved so much flak for this. People have shouted at me, force-fed me, done all they could. Nope, still hatin' them. I'd rather have something spicy and tear-inducing, than Ice-Cream. Dreams: To set up a music school with a few of my friends, where we'll teach people not just to 'play' music, but to LIVE it. To listen, to sing, to clap, to enjoy music, generally. Kinda' weird? Yeah, I think so too. Fanfiction: Currently Working on : Hostage Return : An Assassin's Creed and Naruto Crossover. Give it a squint, see if ya' like it! I don't know how long it'll turn out to be, but I plan to go all the way with it. The Path Of God : A Naruto/DBZ crossover. I think I have pretty different idea here :P Reviews : And here's something concerning 'REVIEWS', which I copied from 'TheDemonKingNaruto', Writers- all of them, from famous authors to subtle FF writers- ALL depend on the feedback from our readers. Vision Dominican brought up an interesting albeit tragically true idea: "Lack of reviews is the greatest killer of fan fic writers out there. We at the institute wish to let the public know of how they can pitch in to save our dying writers. 1) Drop a review every other chapter. It may not seem like much, but reviews are actually what many of us want to see. That, and hits. Hits do make us happy but we don't really know if people like our story or not. 2) Visit our author page. Those kind of hits really make us happy. It's where we showcase our entourage of friends, beta readers, and stories. Some of us even tidy up with set areas for upcoming story ideas and character bios. 3) Send a PM. While normally I'd prefer a review, PM are just as good. Really, it warms my heart to communicate with another reader or writer." What you call being "too lazy to review" is what we call "a flame to the pages" as the writers. That one minute or two that you felt "too lazy" to review is another minute of creeping discouragement that all writers feel as they begin to think... "Why am I even here…?" "What's even the point of continuing?" "My skills must be terrible…no one cares for my story…" "I'll never be a good writer...I quit." These are only a few thoughts that go through every writer's head- that go through MY head- when we put out a chapter / story with all our heart and soul within, and we sit there…and sit…and wait…and not a single person says even a word. If you're not a writer, you have NO IDEA how much that hurts… If you ARE a writer, then I'm sure you know just how great it feels when someone is kind enough to leave a heartwarming and encouraging review, and you read it, smiling while thinking…"Wow…fuck...I did it…" So, why not give fellow writers the same luxury here? Too many times I've seen epic and utterly beautiful works of literary art fall to pieces before finally being abandoned due to the terrible discouragement that the lack of reviews can cause. Sometimes, it is so severe that the very writer himself decides to quit, denying the world his skills of writing that I'm it would have deeply enjoyed. So… Just one minute, that's all it takes. Just a few gentle taps of the fingers on your keyboard, a few seconds or so of your time, and your words can SAVE a writer from a dark demise. Do me a favor: Go find a story, ANY story, anywhere here on Fanfic, net, and see if you can help it. If it has very little / no reviews at all, just check it out, and say whatever comes to mind. And enjoy the thought in mind that you could have just SAVED that story, with just a few taps of the keyboard… If you agree with what I have said then please copy and paste any part of this story you wish onto your profile. Modify it in any way you see fit; there is no need to use my exact words. You make it say what you want it to say. THAT'S ALL, FOLKS! 'Blacken the cursed sun, - Lamb Of God | |||||||
