Olivia Benson has always wanted a child, but she has given up hope. Also, she struggles with the memories of her own traumatic childhood. Maybe she needs a daughter who can help her face her own demons, and in this way they can help each other. This story is about two lost children, Olivia and a kid no one wants. Finally something good happening for Olivia ;)

Seventeen years after giving birth to her and Elliot's secret daughter and making the difficult decision to put her up for adoption, the child Olivia thought she'd never see again shows up asking for their help, setting into motion a chain of events that will change their lives forever. ExO

A shadow from Olivia's past shows up on her doorstep and ends up offering the opportunity for her to take a very different direction in her life. But it's not without its hard choices. Is she willing to make changes in her career to pursue some of the other things she's spent the last several years of her life longing for? Does opening one door really close others? And how many?

And then they take a few more shocking turns. AU in that Elliot's not gone for good but Kathy is, and assuming NYPD would actually pay for such a thing as conflict resolution. M.

Her first vacation in years is interupted by two small children in need of a home and protection from the people a child should always be able to trust. Olivia will do what ever it takes and lay her own life open in court to show this child what love is.
