He is decidedly stubborn and strong-willed, frequently letting his pettiness and vindictiveness get the better of him (it is this stubbornness that contributes to Führer Bradley's decision to codename him "Fullmetal", as "Hagane" is a term in Japanese that denotes someone of obstinate disposition); he is somewhat selfish and remarkably self-absorbed, generally acting more out of self-interest than any sort of philanthropy as well as taking several opportunities to stroke his own ego or flaunt the governmental power and monetary license of his military position. He is largely hostile towards figures of authority and feels little incentive to follow orders with which he disagrees, earning him the distinction of being a loose cannon of sorts. Edward is also rather quick-tempered, resorting more often to steel-fisted violence than calm negotiation to settle disputes (even going so far as to suggest that refraining from hitting Paninya because of her gender is a sexist notion and, therefore, against his principles). He has a reputation for being foul-mouthed and is an incurably sarcastic cynic, only too happy to bluntly and harshly relieve others of their comfortable delusions regarding god, reality, or their own self-importance. Edward has also displayed a propensity towards impatience and an inability to sit still for long, which perhaps contributes to his love of travel. However, for those few people who have made an impact on him, Ed shows his deeper nature to be one of marked selflessness, unflinching loyalty and great compassion. As someone who has had to suffer greatly at such a young age, Edward cannot ignore the true suffering of others and becomes sympathetic upon sensing pain and resolve in people's hearts. Though his solemn advice to such people is often tempered with brusque criticism, it is only because he genuinely wishes to place them on the most direct path forward. As one who has to struggle with a maimed body, he urges those with healthy bodies to use their strong legs to move forward, and as one burdened by the mistakes of his past, he stresses the necessity of people taking responsibility for their own errs. Though he will intervene on behalf of the oppressed if he concludes that a situation has called for it, Ed tends to help only those with the will - but not the means - to help themselves, in which case his recklessness and disdain for authority often has him bending the rules to dole out a Robin Hood-esque justice in accordance with his strong belief in the concept of Equivalent Exchange, earning him notoriety and popularity as a "hero of the people". Of course, the most noticeable of Edward's dispositional characteristics is his Napoleonic denial of his shortness. Even in moments of relative composure, any and all references to his stature cause him to violently lose control of his emotions and lash out both verbally and physically. Distinctive to these outbursts is Ed's tendency to take even the most casual mention of his height as a gross insult and interpret it exaggeratedly, mistaking words as simple as "small" for phrases as contrived as "so-tiny-that-he-need-not-fear-being-crushed-by-a-boot-because-he-fits-so-easily-between-the-grooves-of-the-sole" and the like. Those unfortunate to utter the word "small" in his presence are fated to suffer one of his vindictive tantrums. This is a running gag in the manga and both animes. Though Edward proudly professes that he does not believe in gods, his spiritual sensibilities tend more toward the agnostic than the atheistic; in private, though he does not pray, he frequently acknowledges the existence of a god in his speech, if only to justify why it is that his life has been so difficult. Ed's aesthetic sensibilities are also quite twisted in that he is a great fan of gothic or macabre fixtures and will usually transmute decorations filled with monstrous or demonic imagery and unnecessarily gaudy details, much to the dismay of anyone who receives a gift or service from him. He has also made it known that his trademark red coat is part of this general lack of taste, as it is "a badass color [that] gets the blood going". On the other hand... As a child, Sakura was insecure and highly self-conscious about her large forehead; covering it up with her bangs. It was not until she met Ino, whom defended her from bullies and became her friend, did she become more self-confident. However, while Sakura was noted as being an honour student for her scholastic intelligence in the Academy, she became narcissistic as she was more interested in her appearance and Sasuke as opposed to practising her ninja skills. Because of this, she found Naruto Uzumaki's advances and attempts to gain her attention irksome, calling him childish and foolish, citing his lack of a family as being a reason he was such an annoyance to everyone in the village. Sasuke pointed out that this was because Sakura had never experienced loss in her life and thus could not understand himself or Naruto, prompting Sakura to look at things from Naruto's perspective in an effort to better understand her team-mates. Over time, Sakura became more mature as she developed a mutual friendship with her team-mates, mirroring that of their Sannin masters in their youth. At her core, Sakura is compassionate, determined, and courageous, willing to sacrifice herself and combat those she knows to be superior to her to defend her team. By Part II, Sakura displayed that she does not back down from a fight, noting that she inherited her master's contempt for losing. Sakura can also be reckless, due to her desire to catch up in strength with Naruto and Sasuke and prove her worthiness as a ninja, which often leads her to impulsively attack her opponents and get rescued by her comrades. Sakura has also shown a perverted side, from getting excited by Konohamaru Sarutobi's Sexy: Boy on Boy Technique and having a nosebleed from seeing Naruto's Sexy Reverse Harem Technique. After becoming a mother, Sakura is shown to be very loving and caring as her daughter, Sarada, had no problem sharing her feelings about Boruto and her father. That doesn't mean she doesn't get angry at her daughter, as when Sarada questioned the validity of her marriage she proceeded to smash the ground. After seeing that her daughter was acting out of sadness rather than anger, she apologised and reassured her that her father would be home soon. Sakura is also very protective of her family, as seen when after she woke up she immediately went to find Sarada and how she became enraged when Shin Uchiha attempted to kill her husband and daughter. During Sasuke's time away, Sakura adopted Itachi's habit of poking Sarada in the forehead and telling her "maybe next time" like Itachi always did with Sasuke. She also has deep pride for her daughter and didn't hesitate to loudly cheer for Sarada from the audience during the Chūnin Exams, even though she embarrassed Sarada. She also demonstrates loyalty to Sasuke, which is seen when she pretended to be a helpless hostage to trick Shin into revealing information about his plans on Sasuke's behalf before deciding to finish him off. Sakura, much like Naruto, retains some of her childish traits, as seen when she expected to receive affection from Sasuke but was left disappointed and gloomy when he comically declined to kiss herFrom the start, Sakura had a deep infatuation for Sasuke, rooted in his appearance, cunning, cool attitude, and prodigious talents. Gradually, Sakura learned the reasons behind his actions and how Sasuke's tragic past has shaped him into the person he is. As a result, she became protective and caring for his well-being, which allowed her feelings for him to turn into genuine love. When Sasuke began to defect from Konoha, Sakura did all that she could to stop him from leaving, such as professing her love for him and even offering to join him. Despite thanking her and sounding grateful, Sasuke knocked Sakura unconscious and left. Sakura, cursing herself for not being strong enough to stop Sasuke from defecting, ultimately decided to help Naruto retrieve Sasuke back to Konoha. However, as time went on and Sasuke became an increasingly more dangerous criminal, along with becoming immensely guilt-ridden upon learning of Naruto's feelings for her and how both she and Sasuke had made him suffer from Sai, Sakura was saddened and distraught at the notion that Sasuke could not and would not return to Konoha and he would have to be killed to prevent a war between nations, but decided she would do it herself, oblivious to the fact that she was outmatched by Sasuke. In the end, she found herself unable to kill Sasuke, which nearly cost Sakura her life. Upon seeing Naruto's resolve to bring Sasuke back no matter the cost, Sakura decided she would put her faith in both of them. During the war, when Sasuke returned to fight alongside the Alliance, Sakura did not believe Sasuke could be trusted, which was confirmed with his intention of starting a revolution. Ultimately, Sakura tried to appeal to Sasuke, proclaiming her deep love for him once more, only to be silenced by genjutsu. When Sasuke dismissed her desire for romance, Kakashi scolded him, stating that Sakura loved him so much that she wanted to save Sasuke from his dark path. Ultimately, after Naruto and Sasuke's final clash, the latter, having been redeemed, apologised to Sakura for all he had put her through. Despite her slight hesitation, she tearfully forgave him. Sakura's forgiveness of Sasuke after all the things he's done, including trying to kill her, indicates her maturity and proves her unconditional love for him. Sakura has been shown to be quite stubborn; for example, after marrying Sasuke and learning she was pregnant, she refused to leave his side. Despite being separated from her husband for years, she is content with her marriage and family, as she knows that Sasuke loves her and Sarada, and will return home once his mission is completed. A significant trait of Sakura's personality is her brashness. In Part I, these were turned inwardly, in the form of "Inner Sakura" (内なるサクラ, Uchi Naru Sakura) — a manifestation of her inner emotions. In addition to comic relief, Inner Sakura represents Sakura's actual opinion on things when she outwardly remains calm, collected, or reserved. Inner Sakura's appearances are typically marked by an exclamation of "Shānnarō!" (しゃーんなろー) — a phrase which has no literal meaning, but is usually translated as "Hell yeah!", "Hell no!", or "Damn it!", depending on the situation. The English anime, for censorship reasons, replaced the aforementioned phrases with a forceful "Cha!". Inner Sakura is unique as it is in a way a second will within Sakura's mind. When Ino used the Mind Body Switch Technique on her, Inner Sakura was able to repel the user from her body, suggesting that Sakura has a split personality, consisting of the "Inner Sakura" and her normal personality. Although she appears quite frequently at the start of the series, after her apprenticeship started with Tsunade, and Sakura began to subconsciously adopt some of her master's mannerisms, these feelings would actually manifest through Sakura herself, in violent outbursts that would result in Naruto usually being hit for his foolish or perverted actions. Despite this, however, Inner Sakura will still manifest in some cases such as when Naruto mouthed off to Tsunade. She disciplined him before Tsunade could, noting how fearsome Tsunade could be in cases such as those. There you go! My tsundere side. Choice of fanfics: Anything involving romance (of my fave pairings), humor, drama will do. Especially lemons *slurps* Fluff is generally more welcomed than hurt/comfort or angst, for romance. Unless it is gonna be a multi-chapter story. Random crackfics or pure hilarious stories are loved! Do introduce more of them to me :D Preferred Pairings: Inuyasha: -InuyashaxKagome (Winning couple anytime of the day) -InuyashaxKikyo (Honestly I don't hate this pairing as some others do. I mean, look, Kikyo's already dead and Kagome has Inuyasha. And lastly Inuyasha would never forget his first love. Give them a break. Of course, the only thing I wouldn't support is eventual InuKik) -MirokuxSango (Not much interest here) -SesshomaruxRin (Only with a grown up Rin. I don't need to be a lolita-fan) -SesshomaruxKagura (Though I hold firm to my theory that Sesshomaru only cared as far as a companion would for her, it doesn't hurt to pair them up) -KohakuxRin (just because of the age) -ShippoxRin (kids...) -Sesshomaru/any other male character (besides the Inuyasha and Miroku) and OC Fullmetal Alchemist -EdxWinry (Another winning couple. And don't they seem so similar to InuKag?) -RoyxRiza (Reminds me of MirokuxSango) -LingxLanfan -AlxMei D.Gray-Man -AllenxLenalee -Kanda/Lavi x OC Naruto SasuSaku -NaruHina -BoruSara -ShikaTema -InoSai -KakaRin -MinaKushi -NaruSasu (sole yaoi exception) Shingeki no Kyojin -ErenMika That's all, folks. Enjoy! |
