Ultimately, I have an FF.net account because I adore reading, and this reading is free. Sure, you have to sift through the badly-written stories and some atrocious authors, but once you find the really good ones, it's all worth it. :)

I guess I need an 'About Me' section. I hate these...

Well, I'm a 22-year-old chick still in college. I've been college-hopping around a bit, being picky with a few schools and trying to find a major I like. Just switched back to English Education from Art Education. Yes, I did say 'back'. :) I'll probably get certified in both someday, really... Anyways, I have a boyfriend of three-and-a-half years, he's the love of my life, and I'm his. :) 'Course, somedays I feel I compete with video games, but you can't win 'em all, haha.

Hm, what else...I love all kinds of music. I really just can't stand screamo or any overabundance of rapping. Other than that, I love anything from classical to current pop to jazz to ska. As for movies, if it doesn't have a completely cliche, overdone storyline or horrendous actors, it should be good enough for me. Basically, I don't like anything that centers completely around stupidity. Sure, I like it for a laugh every now and then, but, honestly, there's so many movies out there that just aren't worth anyone's time, let alone mine.

Oh boy, BOOKS. I don't even know where to begin. I can't even have a list of favorites because it would just be too long. I'm very selective in my reading. The phrase "never judge a book by its cover" is somewhat of a lie, at least, to me, anyways. I mean in the literal sense. To an extent, you can judge a book by its cover, along with the nice little summary on the back. Covers usually have something to do with the words written inside of them... -pauses- Can you tell I like to ramble? haha okay okay...I love reading, but I'm selective about it. I just make sure it isn't a stupid waste of time. Otherwise, it's at least minimally deemed "readable". How amazing it is depends on the storyline and what the author has done with it. Of all particular genres, I love classics. Give me a good classic any day of the week, and I'll be as happy as a pig in the mud. Some books I love (at least off the top of my head) are Green Angel, Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Last Lecture, Flowers for Algernon, Speak, Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Friday Night Knitting Club, The Thirteenth Tale, The Secret Life of Bees, the Harry Potter series, etc. Like I said, just off the top of my head...

I've read the whole Twilight series and I completely understand the hype. Don't think I'm one of those crazed people, though, oh ho, no! Stephanie Meyer is a very talented writer, though. The whole vampire-and-human-falling-in-love storyline has been done MILLIONS of times, but she did put her own twist on it, and made it appeal to the masses. For example, my boss (I work in a bookstore) is OBSESSED with Robert Pattinson. Her obsession began from his appearance in (surpirse!) Twilight. ...Ready for the gross part? My boss is a grandmother. A grandmother that has absolutely everything Twilight, especially if Rob's face is on it. I think she even has the underwear... She has a shrine at her house. No lie. Yes, I do believe my boss is a little crazy, but, once again, I do shed some blame on Stephanie Meyer for having a talent for appealling to the masses. She took an age-old storyline, put her flair on it, and made it a hit. Frankly, I think she's brilliant.

Even though I'm not a crazed, ironically, I read a TON of Twilight fanfiction. I only read that and some Dark Knight fanfiction (I think the Joker is amazingly brilliant, as well). I admit, I'm a sap for some element of romance, and since Edward and Bella are so popular, well, it's truly not that hard to find some really good stories/authors in this particular category. Also, I like that I can picture the characters easily as I read along, since I already have a preset notion of their physical appearances.

Anyways, wow, I REALLY like to ramble...I don't know why it's always such a surprise to me, haha. But if you truly have read all of this, you get a giant gold star. Or a cookie. Or both? haha :)
