Lily's sacrifice did a lot more for Harry than protect him from Voldemort. It protected him from the worst of his relatives' abuse, too. But when Dumbledore tells him the whole story, he decides he's had enough and takes control of his life. Set in sixth year.

When Harry is attacked by Dementors before his fifth year and is told that 'Ministry representatives will be calling at your place of residence shortly to destroy your wand' - he runs. There is no way he is letting anyone snap his wand. This is Harry's journey of self discovery.
