The companion piece to Comics is up. Also, the long delayed revised version of Slayer is posted. The revisions fix many of the typos, correct some of the wording, and smooth over a couple minor plot issues. No major changes to the story, just a better, smoother read.

I’ve had several people ask me about Angels and Monsters. While the story is not dead, I am having some trouble with it. I do intended to finish it, but I don’t know when the next update will be.

Angels and Monsters:

The story is based on an idea I have had for a very, very long time. What if Eden did not kill herself? How would her presence affect the Heroes’ world?

Next point, I always thought it strange that Elle, who seems so vitally connected to the company in Season Two, is nonexistent during Season One. Yes, I know that the character did not exist because no one had been cast for the role. Still, the show had flashbacks of Elle with Sylar/Gabriel in his apartment that was Season One-ish, and then nothing. All the crazy end of the world events, and the show mentions nothing of where she was or what she was doing. Well, I fixed that. Elle will reconnect with Gabriel/Sylar. Naturally, madness will ensue.

The story will be split as evenly as possible between Sylar/Elle and Peter/Eden. The story will be told from Elle and Eden's point of view. Ideal the story will show the parallels and differences between Sylar and Peter.

Slayer Orgins:

This fic started after I read maxwell02’s ‘Always’ and something on the syelle livejournal. Awhile ago, there was a post on livejournal, I do not remember who or when, about Elle getting to live outside the company if she had a roommate, specifically Eden. That thought kicked around my head for a little bit. Also, on the livejournal site someone posted a screen capture from the film ‘Fifty Pills,' which showed Kristen Bell (Elle) and Nora Zehetner (Eden/Sarah) together. I’ve never seen the movie, however, the screen capture got me thinking.

Next, Dexter Season Two influenced me a little. The evolving relationship between Dexter and Lila intrigued me. I thought Dexter/Lila was more dynamic pairing than Dexter and Rita. Plus, it would have let Dexter be more open about what he did. While I very much like the show, I was a little disappointed in how the Dexter/Lila relationship concluded. What Dexter/Lila did do, was get me thinking about Sylar and Elle.

Then everything coalesced into one giant idea. No powers, with a Gabriel/Elle relationship reminiscent of Dexter/Lila. Also, I would have Elle and Eden as roommates. While that feature character triangle would work, I felt the story would be better if it had two couples. Thus, enter Peter. While I do not think Eden and Peter even meet, nor can I find a fic pairing them, I think it works.

Baby Origins:

I hated that Sylar killed Elle on the beach. After Sylar kills Arthur, he goes searching for his ‘real’ family. To me that made little sense. The closest the audience ever saw him emotionally to anyone was Elle. While she was far from perfect, Elle was the closest thing he had to family. To send someone searching for family/intimacy, it seems strange that he would lover before setting off on his quest. Also, that he killed her without a ‘good’ explanation bugged me. The whole story is me fixing the show’s mistake on the beach. Everything after that is how Elle might have affected the Season Three story line. Enjoy.
