Blind Orange Julia is a pen name that I plan on using for fanfic that I don't want to be traced
to any other identities I might have. "Clean" stories that I write will probably be under a
different pen name. Therefore, I probably won't be checking my hotmail address particularly
frequently, but either positive or CONSTRUCTIVE negative feedback is appreciated; don't feel
the need to sugar coat it, but don't expect me to necessarily agree with you either.
For the curious among you, "Blind Orange Julia" refers to an episode of Space Ghost: Coast To
Coast where Space Ghost mentions a "classic" bluesman named Blind Orange Julius. There is,
of course, no such person. It is an obvious reference, however, to a real bluesman from the
1920s-30s named Blind Lemon Jefferson. The "lemon" part of his name is probably used with
same intent as in such songs as Memphis Minnie's "Dirty Mother For You": "You done squeezed
my lemon, now you done broke and run" and Robert Johnson's "Traveling Riverside Blues":
"You can squeeze my lemon till the juice run down my leg." So, since I created this penname
to write lemons, I thought it would make a good pen name.
