Well, this all started when I went looking for some good fanfiction and struck gold on this website. I loved it so much that I started to want to write some myself.

I am an infantryman with the Australian Army Reserve, I enjoy discussing weapons and tactics and seek to bring a realism to my fanfiction that is absent in the Mass Effect universe.

I like to refer to Mass Effect 3 as 'Ashley was right all along, everyone looked out for their own interests before the common good, suck it haters'.

I strongly object to character bashing for the purpose of story-telling, and have a strong scepticism of 'AUs' that do not divert or alter the main storyline drastically enough to actually explain the changes in character of the character's being bashed. For instance, if Tali is a psychopath in your story, you owe it to the reader to build up an extensive backstory explaining WHY in this storyline Tali is different than in the main path. If for some reason Kaidan is a lecherous rapist in your magical universe, then you'd better have a damn good backstory built up to explain why he's like that. Otherwise you're a poor writer, your story sucks, you are awarded no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The best way to intrigue your readers, I have found, is to spare no effort with action scenes, and have believable interactions between your characters. Conflict, disagreement, mixed loyalties and budding romance are interesting subjects, and should be handled carefully. Be aware of your tropes and apply them carefully, lest you stray into Narm. Remember, a Shepard sliding under a door firing two pistols isn't a Mary Sue. A Shepard who assaults, disfigures, wounds or abuses his/her crew with no consequences and even praise from their subordinates is a Mary Sue. Some people can't tell the difference.

Current Story: The Siege of Shanxi, a retelling of the FCW on a much larger scale. Written to scratch my techno-thrill, weapons and tactics kink, but is now evolving into world-building for a large scale retelling of the Mass Effect storyline.

Future Project: The main source of delay for TSoS updates at the moment is the writing of character sheets, plot outlines, tabulated data and other goodies for a massive project encompassing a trilogy of all three Mass Effect games, and a duology relating the events in between them. This is a five part saga that will start as soon as I wrap up TSoS. If you would like a cameo, PM me a name, either human or alien, that I can use in the fic. I'm currently running short of realistic turian names, so I'd appreciate any suggestions.
