Author has written 1 story for Twilight, and Memoirs of a Geisha. Hello! This is mrmistoffelees and PsychoSane'sGirl's combined account. We decided to have one because she (the latter) and I are best buds and write stories together. We didn't want to have to decide whose account we were going to post our combined stories on, so she said, "why not have 1 account for the combined stories and leave our normal accounts for our own stories?" I agreed and here is our round robin profile! Profile for me, mrmistoffelees: Name: Medu (only name I'll give out) Age: Year of the wood ox/Virgo Live: America Knows how to do really well: mess with someone's mind. Some of it's from Megumi, the rest from being an amateur magician and taking psychology classes. Trust me, I'm like Fred and George Weasley combined, plus a bit of Peeves when I need to be. That, and if you're in to being a magician, a couple classes in psychology wouldn't go amiss. Favorite thing to do: read. I'm a bookworm, but I'm mostly into fiction. Contrary to what many people probably thought of me, I never got around to reading the entire library of my high school. In grade school, my nickname was 'Encyclopedia'...however, no-one asked me to help them cheat, probably because they knew I'd say no. If they asked me where to find stuff, I'd point them to a particular book or section in our school library, which wasn't all that big. Foreign languages familiar with: French, German (both somewhat familiar, German more recent than French), British English to some extent. Cats or dogs: Cats. I don't mind dogs, but I prefer cats. Major fandoms I write for: Thundercats, Harry Potter, Cats the musical, Memoirs of a Geisha, Phantom of the Opera, Sherlock Holmes, and The Magician. Despite having a Star Trek story up, it's not a fandom I have a major interest in at the present moment. I'll probably get around to finishing it sooner or later. Profile for PsychoSane'sGirl: Name: Megumi (again, only name we'll give out) Age: Year of the tiger/Sagittarius Live: America Knows how to do really well: can we say gutter? Also knows how to mess w/ someone's mind. What? Who do you think taught Medu? Favorite thing to do: read fanfics or play WoW. (Medu: are you sensing a pattern here?) Foreign languages familiar with: Japanese and British English to some extent. Cats or dogs: Both. My aunt and I have 9 and 2...9 cats, 2 dogs. Major fandoms I write for: Dark Angel, Harry Potter (even if my HP stories haven't seen the light of day), Twilight (will see those as soon as they are beta'd), Sailor Moon, and Yu Yu Hakusho, and Memoirs of a Geisha (so far, only in round robins). Round robin info: If you have any questions, send a message to this account, please. You can send messages to our normal accounts, but it'll be easier for both of us. The stories we're writing together will be posted chapter by chapter as soon as we feel a chapter is done. Most of our round robins first need to be found, than put into story format, corrected in some areas, then posted and eventually finished. Generally, each of us has control over part of the round robin. For example, our 2 active round robins right now are a HP/Twilight/Sabrina the Teenage Witch one and a Twilight/Memoirs of a Geisha one. In the latter, Medu has control over the Geisha part and Megumi has control over the Twilight section, plus each has control over any original characters, even if said characters are in the section normally covered by the other writer. In the former, Medu has control over the Sabrina characters because she's the most familiar with them, and Megumi will always be in charge of Twilight because she's a bigger fan than Medu is. We both have control over the HP characters. Sometimes, though, this isn't the case. We have several round robins that are just HP with other characters mentioned, but either seen or not. If, at any time, you think that we're getting a certain character wrong, feel free to call us out on it. We'll either take a look at our notes (yes we have notes for round robins) and see if we can't get it fixed, or leave it as is. Of course, we do change things from the canon, so if it's supposed to be that way, we'll tell you (and who asks), plus make a mention of it for the next chapter so that new readers don't get confused. Also, if you have an idea for a round robin that you'd like us to write, send us a message and we'll get back to you about it. The only requirement that we have is that it be a detailed description. By that, we mean, no messages saying, 'Can you two do a round robin featuring this pairing?' and that be the only part. We don't need pairings in the description, though you can include them if you want. We just need the fandom (or fandoms, if you want it to be a crossover), the fic idea (aka plot bunny), and general description of fandom or characters if it's something you don't know if we know about. Megumi is big into manga and anime, so our chances of knowing an anime/manga fandom is good. If neither of us know of the fandom or character, we will research it and/or ask you for more information if needed. We do write slash (male/male and femslash), so if you want a slash pairing, let us know, but if it's a slash pairing that wouldn't happen in the canon of the fandom (like HP/DM or HP/SS), we need a good and believable reason why. Same for non-slash pairings that wouldn't appear in the canon. None of that 'so and so is this or that magical being (veela, etc) and this character is his/her mate' or 'Love potions', but a honest, believable reason. Both of the reasons I mentioned are plot bunnies that have been so over-used that it's pretty much a canon cliche in HP fics, like the pairings themselves. One of the best HP fanfics that Medu's read that includes a gay Draco is 'This Means War' by Jeconais and Draco isn't with Harry. To break it down by rule: 1. Include fandom or fandoms 2. Fanfic idea/plot bunny 3. General description of the canon (aka the book/movie/tv show/graphic novel/comic book/etc. Definition somewhat interchangeable with fandom, though fandom includes fanon) and particular characters that are going to be main characters in plot bunny. (optional) 4. If pairings aren't ones that wouldn't happen normally in canon, must have a believable reason why and not a cliche. 5. We do not write incest fics. Final word on that subject. Heck, we don't go near those type of fics with a 2 gazillion foot pole. Yes, gazillion is a word...Google Chrome's spell check just gave me the correct spelling on it...and I, Medu, just looked in a dictionary. 6. Brit-pickers welcome (as well as those who are more fluent in French, German, and Japanese). While we're both familiar with those languages, we are by no means fluent in them. We see fit to add to or change these rules as we see fit. 8/24: Links to the kimonos described in the story: |
