First things first I'm absolute rubbish at reviewing. Sorry its just if its a really crappy fan fic I stop reading it and if its good I wont have anything to say other than wow that was good. If its a decent fanfic then I'll usually read it but lots of times its difficult to offer constructive criticism since the difference between mediocre and good is usually in the detail and style of the writting which I can't hope to offer you help on since I'm trying to figure it out myself. Plus I'm terrible at noticing mistakes in spelling while I read I automatically fix them in my head. I have to read something at least three times before I can even start to properly edit it for technicalities like grammer and spelling. The ONE thing that I will always drive me insane is writting a character out of character. If the main character is out of character so they become inconsistant and weak characters I cannot read it. I just can't and the story goes in the mental filing cabinet under unsalvageable, will be kinder and more productive not to review because review may become horrible soul crusher or source of anger or stress for both parties file; I have a very detailed mental filing sytem. However there are instances where the character share the same/similar past with the original but due to the slight past changes or progression of the story GROWS into a completely differetnt character (which is still a very well developed one). Now these stories I usually just complely separate from the book they were inspired from but usually enjoy very much and will try to review. Now that thats out of the way hello! I go by lin because well Im a bit paranoid and don't want google searches having all my various acounts popping up left and right. I tend to get a bit crazy obsessive over one book/show at a time and while the obsession might fade after time i always maintain a strong love for said book/show. Past obsessions and current loves include Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Merlin , Percy jackson, Alex Rider, Sherlock (bbc version), Artemis Fowl, and Eragon. Other things that I consider excellent time investments include The Picture of Dorain Gray, The Book Thief, Lord of the Rings, Criminal Minds, Psych, and ok I'm just going to stop there but there are many more. I have terrible spelling and grammer and handwritting. Its so bad that I often wonder if i can be truly considered literate.(Appoligies for anyone who's pet peeve is bad grammer and spelling and have managed to stumble across my blathering I'm trying really hard here for you.) Its a comomon habbit for me to stay up till 4 in the morning reading or internet surfing or watching tv while procrstinating for doing a project due in 4 hours from then. I function pretty excellently sleep deprived, except for occasionly in math, usually when I have a test and then instead of writing functions and formulas I write giberish sentences about legos, mr. chaos, and gold chucks (I kid you not I have read those phrases on my math papers). I have yet to write a fan fic mostly because I'm so terribly lazy and also uncreative. Most story lines end up remarkable unoriginal conglamerites of other stories or so I scrap them. I have a strong admiration for anyone who can easily enjoy reading shakespeare (I will never deny his awesomness but it can be bloody difficult), manages to be no apathetic about school, has some form of patience, who can write WELL, or has musical talent, since those are all traits I lack but wish I had. I'm ridiculously inconsistant ( except for with my fandoms (well except for who im shipping in merlin cause they don't make it easy to stay consistant there)), random (have you noticed?) , and apparently have an odd sense of humor since I'm always laughing and no one never understand why even after I explain. Then they laugh at something and I dont understand... Oh and my sense of humor is always on the fritz, some days, no some minutes I'm outright ridiculous, and others I'm sarcastic and cynical... it goes with the whole ridiculously inconsistant territory. Several facts of life that I have accepted - The walls and cupboards are in kahoots to get me and they do move. Sometimes a stray goal post or column joins in and jumps out so beware. Rumbleroar is Aslan. There is really good chinese food in Japan. No one is sane (but most people are in denial). The most brilliant people with the best perspective are usually the ones who take almost nothing seriously. Liking the idea is the easiest step in achieving anything. The human race, well we are in many ways the a huge hoarde of cattle (with a relatively few people exempt and if we were observing a cattle herd we would think of those people as mentally retarded cattle(seriously we would if you think about it)). Someone really needs to start a massive world wide new agency that actually gives all the facts and in an unbiased manner AND gives actually reports on current events happening outside the country instead of showing clips of bunnies or whatever the hell they show for ratings. Fantasy kicks reality's sorry ass. Things I'm realativly sure of- China or McDonalds will be taking over the world soon. The U.S is sadly probably going to crash and burn within another century (Dont come at me for that coment seriously just pay closer attention to politics or the government( We (as in people) are getting to Mars in my lifetime (assuming I live to at least the current life expectancy), I abuse parenthis. Ok well thats all I have to say about that topic of me cause lets face it Im a facinating topic and I could go on for ages but I really want to go get something sweet and something salty. im thinking im going to go steal some cookies and some gold fish. (And that statement is pretty much true for about 80-90% of my existance so it stays.) |
