"Your songs remind me of swimming which I forgot when I started to sink

I tried to remember the chorus; I can't remember the verse

'Cause that song that sent me swimming is now the life jacket that burst.

Your songs remind me of swimming but I can't swim anymore.

Pull me out the water, cold and blue I open my eyes and see that it's you

So I dive straight back in the ocean. Take a deep breath, cross my fingers and hope for the best "

- Swimming, Florence + the Machine

Hello to all whom have stumbled upon this profile! If you couldn't tell where I got my username, I hope you listen to the song above to clarify it a bit. Personally, I've been a big fan of Florence for awhile and though I love most of her works, this particular one is still my favorite. Alas, if you want a rant on my taste in music, just send me a message or something. A profile doesn't seem like the proper place to rant about stuff like that. At least ... not for an introduction. But yes, moving along now.

Feel free to call me any nickname you can possibly come up with - keep in mind that it has to be somewhat friendly - and I've been on this site for years so hearing a new one is always nice. And speaking of new, the whole reason I created this account was for a fresh, clean start. Away from the clutter of old fics that still leave me mortified (the horror .. the Mary-Sue-and-spelling-errors horror). I have so many fandoms that I'm both madly in love with that are old and new. Currently (and has been since I read Doyle's works way back when) the obsession category belongs to Sherlock (BBC), The Song of Ice & Fire Series, Fringe (Fox), DC Comics (BM / WW Shipper), Sherlock Holmes (who am I kidding, I love all versions of it: Granada, Russian!television, Guy Ritchie's, etc etc), Merlin (BBC), Doctor Who (9th to 11th), and Supernatural (CW).

Are these all the series I like? No. Not even half ... can't tell whether to be proud of that or not.

I am currently working on two fics. Know that neither are a slash story (though I'm sure if you squint, you can see them as such bahaha). Sherlock and John, to me, in any universe, have one of the most beautiful and developed friendships / brotherly adoration. I just rarely ever ship them together in a romantic fashion. I think the only exception I've made is for the new series on BBC. Do I have anything against two people loving each other, let alone two men? HAH. Oh Lord. Of course not. Not at all. In fact, I've probably got some in my favorites. Who cares about the gender? I know I've read plenty of them for a multiple of pairings. I'm a very tolerant person who's willing to read just about anything as long as it's had effort put into it. I can't handle extreme smut though. No, I am not immature but yes, I'd like to avoid reading really over-the-top porn. I already have to read enough of that in every other chapter because of George R.R Martin so I'd like to switch to something cleaner when I open my laptop.

As for Along the Road, it will be a rather long fic and I will try to update weekly. Senior year in high school can be time-consuming so just bear with my on the waiting time; I'll reward any reader I have with one-shots if I lag behind, honestly. I do take suggestions and I actually encourage them as well as criticism. I've been trying my best to keep any grammar / spelling errors out of my writing but they always tend to squeeze their way in. If I ever get a beta-reader, hopefully that will all change.
