![]() Author has written 1 story for Of Mice and Men. It's always a little hard for me to process how long I've been in fandom, especially when I'm confronted with concrete evidence - like, the date on here? 2001??? The fact that i have been on ff.net for almost TWO DECADES blows my mind. I've been in fandom since 1996, when I was 14. My first fandoms were mostly animated fandoms, primarily Darkwing Duck, The Lion King, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Animaniacs, and Tiny Toons. As I got older, my fandoms got more varied and diverse, with the big ones during my teenage years being Nicktoons, Invader Zim/Jhonen Vasquez (Johnny, Squee, I Feel Sick), Monty Python, and Frasier (...yeah, kind of the odd one out). Since then, big fandoms have included: Harry Potter, Supernatural, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Community, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball, Steven Universe, Almost Human, Pirates of the Carribean, The Office, Blood and Ice Cream trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, World's End), MCU (Avengers!verse, especially Thor and Iron Man), Daredevil (Netflix), Bob's Burgers, Welcome to Night Vale, Hannibal, Hamilton, Alice Isn't Dead, and House. I've been attending fan conventions since 2009, since the inaugural LeakyCon in Boston, which continues to hold a special place in my heart. Since then, I've attended Anime Boston, and a too-short-lived (IMHO) but definitely well-loved micro-con in Boston, cekebrating women and LGBTQ fanworks. In the last several years, my never-miss convention has been Arisia. I hope to make it to ConnectiCon and RI ComiCon in he foreseeable future. I don't cosplay much, but I've been known to pull together an okay Marceline the Vampire Queen and an actually decent 80s-era Rose Quartz. I'm desperately trying to find the resources to put together a post-corruption Jasper (SU) cosplay before the next Arisia. I'm continuing to write in the Sherlock fandom, and hope to return to literaary fandoms as well as House (I know, I know, I just can't let it go) though I doubt I'll post any more of it here. |
