![]() Author has written 2 stories for Hetalia - Axis Powers. Soooooo... I'm Anii Midori. Right now, my favorite thing in the whole entire frickin' world has GOT to be Hetalia. I love alllll anime and manga. Among my favorite are: Hetalia (of course), Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater, Ouran Highschool Host Club, Psyren, Bleach, Me and My Brothers (A manga near and dear to my heart, for it was the first manga I ever read *tears*), Naruto, K-ON, One Peice, Yotsuba&! (Seriously, I think the only manga that's ever made me really truely laugh out loud), and A LOT more. If I told you everything you'd get bored and stop reading. We don't want that. Really though, who was it that had the brilliant idea of making a website to write stories about things you're obsessed with so that you can share your obsession with the world? Someone amazingly awesome. Like, more awesome than Prussia. And that's saying something. Before I actually decided that I was going to write a fanfiction, I joined this site only so that I could put some stories on Story Alert and put some in my favorites. After reading a few of them though, my brain gears started turning (as they tend to do from time to time) and all of the sudden I was faced with a decision. Just sit back and read more of these awesome stories- or write my own? Before long, I had a basic outline of what characters I wanted in it in my head, and all I had to do was write some stuff down. I was in Florida at the time for my aunt's wedding, and I just went down to the beach, sat down in a beach chair with my feet in the water, and poured my ideas out on a yellow pad that I got at a drugstore. Looking for inspiration was easy enough. Beach... stranded.. hey! That's an idea! Before I knew it, I had a good ten pages of just bulleted notes: Do this, have America do that, Britain will do this, you know, all that good stuff. With all of that information, the easiest part was the actual writing part right? WRONG. I learned while sitting at the computer until about twelve at night with a blank Microsoft Word document up that actually starting the story was like hell. I tried maybe three different beginnings, that are all currently in my recycling bin, until I found the perfect one. And once I found that perfect place, writing the rest just kind of- happened. It just comes out, like, flowing from your brain, to your hands, to the keyboard. I hadn't written in a really long time since discovering manga, and it was all so familiar, I just got right back into it. The first draft of the first chapter was done a productive four days later, and after that, I began editing. When I finished, I read it over. Then edited again. And again. No matter how much I edited it, it still wasn't perfect enough. I needed a name for the story, needed more planning, better word choice, keep editing, keep editing. After a while, unhappy and sick of all the crossing out and writing in, I just stopped. I filled a flashdrive with all my documents, put all my work in a folder on my desk, and overtime, other things covered it. All of the writing out pages and pages and pages of bullets and plans, gone into one single folder that was slowly topped by clothes and posters and books. And maybe two or three months later, I was chatting with my friend, and he said: "Did you post your fanfic?" A faint something sparked in my head, and then I remembered that manilla folder on my desk upstairs and I thought to myself: "What the heck?" Out of nowhere, and after so much editing, I was on the computer, and then I was publishing it. My first review came a good ten minutes after I had posted it. It's such a rush, reading your first review. They liked it. They liked my writing! I had not once reveiwed anyone's writing before, and now I feel like I have to. And I will, because now I know how good it feels to know that people will take the time to reveiw your writing. I'm a part of fanfiction.net now, it's a really cool feeling knowing that you're story is up, and anyone can read it. As of now, the only fanfic that I have going right now is Dear Gilbert. I'm going to try to publish a new chapter everyday. UPDATE: (3/25/13) ALRIGHT ALRIGHT I OWE YOU GUYS AN APOLOGY. I KIND OF HAD SOME WRITER'S BLOCK REGARDING DEAR GILBERT. I'M WORKING ON UPDATING IT RIGHT NOW OKAY. Check out my fics, don't forget to reveiw, and feel free to PM me anytime. Thanks so much! Happy reading! Anii Midori |
