Juvia and Gray

It had been a bad day. On a mission with Gray, Natsu, Lucy and Erza, Juvia had somehow managed to flood the entire city that they were trying to protect. It wasn't her fault though, she had just taken a look at Gray and was entranced with how he moved when he cast his spells. She didn't see when the fire monster they were fighting came straight for her, and her first reaction was to cast a tsunami. Why Juvia, why?!, she thought. She was on her way home from the guild, after a long and deserved scolding from the Master. While being scolded, she saw Gray-sama glancing her way, which made the situation even worse. By then she couldn't take it anymore, she screamed "I'm so sorry for the messes that Juvia has made!" and ran out the doors of Fairy Tail. All the while, Gray couldn't help but feel a tad guilty. After all, the scolding that the Master gave her wasn't the first she had gotten that day. After Juvia's mistake, Gray pulled her aside and just poured out everything he had wanted to say to every mistake she had ever made. Juvia's eyes trembled as she listened on and on, and eventually Gray just stopped and looked into her eyes. He immediately felt remorse for what he had done. Quietly, the water mage said: "You are right, Gray-sama. Juvia is just a big mistake waiting to happen. Juvia has tried to please you and impress Gray-sama with her actions but that has obviously not worked on Gray-sama. Juvia will not get in Gray-sama's way anymore. Juvia does not deserve the love of, or even to love Gray-sama." And with that, she started walking back to the guild without waiting for the others. Gray watched he as she left, feeling like a million knives stabbed him in the heart. He hated himself at that moment, and he realized that even if Juvia still had the strength to love him,(which she did, of course), he did not deserve it. He let out a scream of anger and punched the wall. Again Gray?! he thought. You could never deserve Juvia, or anyone, at that. You're too dense, you son of a-, but his thoughts were cut short when he heard the loud sobs of Juvia. He looked towards the sounds and saw her still walking away, further down the path, but her shoulders shaking as she cried. Right then and there, Gray hated himself.

As he saw Juvia run out of the guild, her turned in his seat and banged his head on the table repeatedly. Eventually he heard the sound of a certain dragon slayer say "If you're trying to get smarter, Ice Princess, it's not working" "Shut up, Natsu!" Gray screamed. "Alright, alright, but what's wrong?" Natsu replied with a smug look on his face. "It's Juvia. I feel like an ass. She didn't deserve when I or the Master unloaded on her. I just really miss her right now and I want her to know how bad I feel." Natsu was surprised that Gray hadn't punched him in the face and actually told him what was the matter, so he actually tried on a response, replying "Just say sorry, dude. It's what I do when Lucy seems sour at me. But one thing, you have to mean it, because every time I have made Lucy mad, I knew I deserved it. And I felt like an ass. So I just tell her the truth, and she usually ends up hugging me for an hour straight with tears in her eyes." Gray considered this, and was moved (if possible) by Natsu's actual concern for Lucy's feelings. "Thanks dude. I guess you're not always a dense jerk, are you?" "Not as bad as you, am I?" Natsu replied with a glint in his eye. Gray left and set off after Juvia, but only after kicking Natsu in the leg.

By that time, Juvia was already in her home, taking a bath and soaking in her misery and sorrow. She let out a sigh as she dove her head under the water and stayed there until she felt at least a bit better. She slowly stepped out of the bathtub and changed into her blue and pink pajamas with hearts on them ad sat on the couch, just watching the television. She looked down at her pajama bottoms and found that in one of the hearts, she had written Gray-sama's name. This was a while ago, before she messed up her chances with Gray. Just looking at his name filled her with guilt and her eyes welled up with tears. She wiped her eyes and told herself once again, Juvia does not deserve to love Gray-sama. Juvia is a terrible wizard. She closed her eyes and rubbed the heart until the name was smeared and it was unrecognizable. She was just drifting into a light sleep when she heard knocks on her door. "Juvia! Open up, please? I need to talk to you, Juvia" She shot up and instantly knew the voice. Gray-sama, she thought. Probably another scolding. She got up and reluctantly opened her door. She was met with the beautiful eyes of the ice mage. "Gray-sama, Juvia is so-" but she was interrupted when Gray stepped into her house and wrapped his arms around her. He buried his face into her blue hair and squeezed her so tight and that his arms reached to the opposite side of his body and touched his rib cage. Juvia was stunned. She stood there helplessly and just let her one eternal love embrace her. She blushed furiously and her heart melted. Eventually, she quietly asked "Gray-sama, are you feeling ok? Did something happen?" But Gray just squeezed her tighter. He whispered in her ear "I'm so sorry. I'm so so so so sorry, Juvia. You mean so much to me and I- I just- I'm sorry." Juvia listened with her heart twisting at every word. She lifted her arms and squeezed Gray back. She embraced her one love with so much might he had to take a deep breath. She replied "Gray-sama has no need to apologize. Gray-sama was patient with Juvia for so long, Juvia does not blame her love." Gray released her from his hold and took her face in his hands gently, her expression changing to a look that said I'm in love. Gray looked her square in the eye. Juvia blushed furiously. He moved one hand into her hair and moved his face so that their lips connected. Juvia's heart exploded into 1,000,000 million pieces as her dream came true. She embraced the kiss her love had gifted her with and held his face in her hands as well. Gray felt accomplished, as if he had just fulfilled something he had been wanting to do for a while. He was holding the woman he loved, and he knew it. Juvia eventually pulled away slightly and asked with a confused look on her face, "Gray-sama is okay?" Gray laughed softly and replied in a small but husky voice, "Yes, Gray-sama is okay." He closed the door behind himself, led Juvia to the couch, and laid down with his head in his love's lap. he looked up at Juvia and gave her a warm smile, saying "I think I love you now." Juvia blushed, but said in a strong voice "Juvia knows she loves you," and arched her head so that she planted a kiss on Gray's forehead. Gray quietly said the words "Yes, I know I love you. I love you Juvia." Juvia's heart raced as she smiled a huge smile and said back to her heart's one desire, "I love you too." And they fell asleep, knowing that they were safe with the ones they loved.
