![]() Author has written 9 stories for RWBY, Elder Scroll series, Inheritance Cycle, and X-Com. KIND OF IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT =P Hey there boos! So, I know I kinda said none of my stories would go on hiatus, and technically they aren't, but things have come up, and until December I'm gonna have only...like an hour or two of free time every day. So, while I will still try to write fanfiction, I won't be anywhere near as often with my chapters. Like I said, I will still try and write as much as I can, but I'm forewarning you all about this. I will try to keep it relatively fair, but...Ahh screw it, I can't lie, the stories that are least likely to be updated much in this period are Alagaesian Anomaly and Crimson Dovah. Not to say they'll never get another chapter in this time, they are just the least likely for it. Alagaesian Anomaly I just feel quite under-prepared to write. After reading maybe 10 fanfiction based in Inheritance Cycle, I stupidly thought I was ready to write a fanfiction of my own in that Universe. And Crimson Dovah...I...hmm...Crimson Dovah I quite enjoy writing...but I did too much too quickly I think, and I got seriously bored writing for it. And now, after what...a month? Yeah, after a month away from it, I'm feeling quite worried that it'll just come out boring and not worth reading. I will still begin the next chapter and see where it goes. If it's terrible I'll be re-writing it, but don't expect that chapter for a little while. And again, apologies. Technically no stories are on Hiatus, but...it's a technicality, in practice several stories are going without updates for a while. ANNOUNCEMENT FOR MY ANNOUNCEMENT! I have decided, aside from today obviously, that I'll only be writing on weekends. I promise at least one chapter a week, preferably between 3 and 5 though. And yes, I did start a whole new damn story, hush your faces, I wanted to, and it's cute. I LIKE THE IDEA OF BEING A FAUNUS DAMMIT! Hi there! My name is FireFlux, but you already knew that. Random trivia, eh? Well, here goes nothing. I'm 20. I have a gender, and no, I'm not telling you it. I like milk chocolate digestives and pancakes, and my favorite...maybe Orange Lindt Lindor...Mmm. I dislike fanfictions that get dropped (looking at you, Ancient Secrets!), and I have a major soft spot for cuddling. Seriously. It's weird. If I feel like it, I'll just collapse down on a bed and wrap my arms around whatever I can, be it pillows, covers, whatever. I also have a habit of dragging my friends into Discord servers to sing random songs using music bots, because why not. I have an irrational fear of singing Nights in White Satin though. A friend of mine constantly tried to get me to sing it to her, and now I have a phobia of singing it. It's strange. I also have the biggest soft spot for animals. Mostly cats. I could be walking down the road, and if a single cat lies there and is willing to let me pet it, assume I'll be late to whatever I'm going to. Once I start petting a cat, I just can't stop. I also like dogs, birds, rabbits, pretty much anything. One of my dreams is to go to Kitsune Mura (Fox Village) in Japan. Though I also want to visit Wan-Wan Land (Dog Amusement Park) and Aoshima (Cat Island), I mostly want to be able to pet animals that we're always taught are pests. It's not my fault their tails are so floofy and adorable and I want to just hug them and tell them it'll all be okay! I may have a problem. It's a good problem to have. As you can probably tell, I adore RWBY fanfictions. So much that I decided that, since there wasn't one about a teacher Ruby, I'd make it. And, from there, it kind of spiralled out of control. But a good kind of uncontrollable spiral, like a Ferris Wheel...Wait that's controlled. Like a Beyblade! Yeah! I really enjoy the RWBY Universe, though reading as much fanfiction as I have has kind of jaded me to the actual show, since some of the stories on here are absolutely incredible, and the show becomes a little lackluster in the face of such amazing fanfiction. Don't get me wrong, the show is still great, it's just...not as good as some of the stories I've read on here, and it kinda diminishes the shows standing in my book. But hey, that's why I read fanfiction! Also, a big point for me, Ruby's semblance, IT'S NOT SPEED! It's not! In the Volume 4 Character Short, Ruby clearly splits into 3 distinct and separate rose clusters. Her semblance is more like petals, considering she can fly with it, she can split herself into separate clusters, and she can turn other people, like Nora in Chapter 4 against the Geist, into petals as well. So why is it called speed? Did the writers just give up in the end and say "Screw it, have all these powers, and we'll just say it's speed." I don't care what you say, my stance is solid, as is the argument. She isn't just fast. Sure, her petals make her faster, but her semblance isn't derived from speed, it's from rose petals. And, considering how her semblance even lets her fly, that's another point into the category of "Not just fast." Oh, I have a P(a)treon now. I don't expect anything, but if you have the money to spare and want to support me in writing more Fanfiction, I would appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. Since Fanfiction apparently has a vendetta against links, just search "Fireflux" on the site. I have a very fun work ethic. If I manage to start working on something and want to do it, I can do it easily and quickly. Like when I want to do cleaning or whatever, it's done in minutes. But when I don't want to, it takes forever. And I figure the same thing will happen with this. I ADORE writing it, so I'm able to work really fast. I mean, in a month and a half I wrote 78,900 words across all my stories. Following that trend, I'd write about 630,000 words a year, or about 6 and 3/4 regular length adult books. I think that says something. The speed may change, it'll probably lessen to a more even 450,000 words a year, but still decent enough. If I can keep my interest in the stories, they'll go a long way. Hmm, I don't know what else to say really. Well, hope you enjoy the fanfiction! Completed Stories: Stories I have finished are here, duh... Grimm Outlook - Rwby Grimm are simple, mindless beings, who for all known history wanted for nothing but the total destruction of humanity, and have black fur...Summer knew this. Yet, after a mission gone so badly calling it a disaster was too kind, she found herself in a cave with none other than a White-Furred Grimm...looking after her? Jeez, she was not nearly drunk enough to deal with this. Favorite Fanfictions: My personal opinion picks for the best stories I've read on the site. These are my OPINIONS, just making that clear. And yes, all but one of them has at least one part of RWBY in it. There are more stories that I'll add to this list when I think of them. For now, this is good though. All of them, except for Blood Rose, I'd recommend everybody get a good read out of. Blood Rose requires a bit more of a niche audience, and it REALLY earns that M rating. Warning you now, it was written before the "No MA-Rated content" guidelines were put in place, meaning it was allowed to stay on the site. It's one of those stories you wouldn't be allowed to write now, just as a guideline for its brutality in the early chapters. Remnant's Reclaimer - Hysterical Clerical Hijinks This was the story I first read when I got back into seriously reading fanfictions, back in March 2019. I adore the story, and damn what Hysterical Clerical wrote about it, I think it was perfect. Blood Rose - Rapey Lemons (Yes, that is their pen-name) Now, Blood Rose is not for the faint of hearts. It is brutal. It has rape, it has cannibalism, it has graphic depictions of murder and injury. Not for the faint of hearts whatsoever. But it's also one of the fanfictions I first read, ever. I read it back in...at least 2015 I think, and I quite enjoyed it, especially the later chapters that moved far, far away from the rape/cannibalism and into more stable grounds. Lost Rose - moguera Ruby being betrayed and abandoned by people she trusted, it's a pretty common trope. I quite enjoy stories like it, but Lost Rose takes it a step further. Ignoring how gloriously long it is, over a million words now, the amount moguera changes the lore is enough to make me question whether or not the story is really RWBY anymore =D. Reconstruction - pokeman1280 I mentioned this story in Alagaesian Anomaly, but I'll re-iterate. All 3 "books" of pokeman's story come up to more than a million words, and the detail they go into when writing is just astounding. Rise of a True Shield Hero (Redux) - theoneandonlyedster Man, I enjoyed the Shield Hero anime, but Naofumi could have done with being a bit stronger and smarter, which is exactly what this story does. Picture it as a re-imagined Shield Hero fanfiction and you'll be good to go. Current Stories: These are the stories I'm currently writing. And, PLEASE, if you have something to critique, please be constructive with it. Don't just say "I didn't like the fight scenes." and leave it at that. "I didn't like the scene where Ruby used her dagger to just disarm her opponent and letting them back off and run away. Perhaps she could have disarmed, and then struck her opponent in the elbow with the blunt end of her dagger, closing the distance to her opponent and stopping them from escaping." That's a moderate example for critiquing the specific fight scene and providing an alternative. And, as long as it's constructive and useful, I LOVE criticism. Every time my story is criticized and something is picked at, it tells me something was incorrect or just plain bad and helps me fix the problem and avoid it in future! The Crimson Dovah - Rwby/Skyrim Crossover A normal day. Nothing odd was happening, and Ruby went through the day just like any other. Dozing off whilst doing homework, there were no signs that her life was about to change drastically. But, when she closed her eyes and fell to sleep, she was forced to leave her world and friends behind, and her mind went to Tamriel, leaving her body behind. The Watching Rose - Rwby Ruby Rose. At 15, the youngest ever to attend a Huntsman Academy. Filled with such hope about saving the day, she was not ready for reality to so viciously steal her team. After returning to Beacon alone, she devotes herself to trying to keep as many students alive and together as she possibly can, and hopes to save as many as she can from her own pain. Alagaesian Anomaly - Rwby/Inheritance Cycle Crossover One moment she's on Remnant, fighting some weirdly well-dressed thief. Snap. Suddenly she's in a different world. Except, she isn't her anymore. At least, not in body. With her new body, and her peculiarities, Ruby must make her way in a world completely unlike her own, and maybe, one day, find a way home. At least, if she can survive there that is. Feathered Rose - Rwby Summer and Ruby were missing, and Raven wasn't planning on giving any help. But, finding Ruby in her dead mother's arms, Raven saw a chance and she took it, taking Ruby as her own and raising her properly. Now, at 15, Ruby just had to get noticed by Beacon. But Raven was determined to let Ruby avoid the same fate that befell her Mother. Ruby Rose, Engineer Extraordinaire - Rwby/XCOM Crossover Tumbling through a mysterious portal was not Ruby's plan, nor was it to end up in the middle of a war between humans and aliens on a different planet. With her aura gone and Crescent Rose left at home, Ruby is swept up by Chief Engineer Shen immediately for her love of engineering and weaponsmithing, and together, there's nothing they can't build. Broken Watch - Rwby Cinder couldn't just damn well die like she was meant to. She had to have one final attack up her sleeve, though she couldnt've have planned on her attack mixing with Ruby's semblance and sending her back to her first year. But Ruby would be damned if she let the same crap happen again. Though, she had to say, 15-year-old Ruby was naive as hell. Brutal Truths - Rwby Captured by Salem, Ruby is forced to listen as the Queen of the Grimm...tries to get her assistance? After everything, Ruby could safely say this was not one outcome she expected after being knocked out by Tyrian. And, if it finally stops the eternal war between her and Ozma, Ruby would happily agree. The only problem is the incentives...(Two-Shot most likely - Light Torture P) Falling Into Petals - Rwby One day, walking down the street, in a robbery gone horrible, Crystal found herself bleeding out on the floor, a knife slit across her throat. When she closed her eyes however, she found the pain had gone, her hearing was insane, and something was waggling about behind her. Opening her eyes, a pair of Silver Eyes were staring right back at her... Story Ideas: These are just a few random inspirations for interesting stories. Feel free to use them if you want. Expect 90% of these to simply stay as ideas, I just write these down when I think of them, and delete them later if I decide they aren't good enough. A Lost Petal - Rwby/Bioshock 2 Crossover Ruby Rose dreamed of being a huntress. But, after finding her semblance, by pushing too far, she runs right through reality itself, and ends up head-first in the underwater city of Rapture. But, at least she has her Big Daddy and Sister. Nothing could possibly happen to her now, right? Wandering Hunter - Bloodborne/Warhammer Crossover When the Good Hunter struck down the Moon Spirit, becoming a Great One, she sighed in content, for the dream would finally be over. But fate, it seemed, had other plans, casting her asunder through reality, into a world similar to her own. Trapped in this new world, she must learn to fight these new abominations, whilst keeping herself safe from those who would use her unique abilities to terrible effect. A New Life - Rwby Ruby was happy. She had her aura, her semblance, and her, quite frankly, awesome scythe skills. So, one day, while visiting her mothers gravestone, she didn't realize just how much her life was about to change. Now, with her semblance gone, replaced by this weird new "gamer" semblance, she must find her way through life with these new abilities, and try to stop whatever nefarious plot her rather rude semblance keeps alluding to. The Scorched Rose - Rwby Cinder Fall is many things. A great planner, strong fighter, and remarkably terrifying. One word she never expected though, was mother. More specifically adopted mother, but, the chips fell where they may, and Cinder is not about to turn down the one thing in this world that, much to her and everybody elses, surprise, makes her genuinely happy. Ruby, The Nightmare Hunter - Rwby/Bloodborne Crossover Gehrman was tired of the hunt. Tired of repeating the same act of teaching, then slaying hunters, hoping one day he'd finally be bested. So, he made a deal with the Moon Presence. The next hunter would be different. Instead of being slain, she would eventually give in and surrender, take his place, and he could finally rest. But both he, and the Moon Presence, failed to account for the thorns of a trapped rose. Summer's End, and Roses Wilt - Rwby Summer Rose never wanted Ruby to come to harm, as any mother should. However, during a routine hunt that Ruby went on with her mother, a single Nevermore tore Summer from Ruby, and left Ruby helpless, at the mercy of nature. Now, 10 years later, Ruby returns to Patch. To the people of Patch, however, she's only known as the Rose. Firestorm - Fallout/Bioshock Crossover Eleanor didn't know what she'd find on the surface. But, arriving at a dock after days of swimming, she could say with certainty that she definitely didn't expect to find a ruined city. What's more, none of these people seemed to even care about her arrival beyond some glances and murmured questions. But her father died to get her up here, and she'd be damned if she squalored this chance. Corruption - Rwby Death. A trivial concept for one such as Salem. When another Silver-Eyed warrior fell to her, she thought nothing of it, simply dismissing it as per usual. But, watching as the life faded out of those silver orbs, Salem took a gamble. One which could flip Remnant on its head and finally break the stalemate between Salem and Ozma. The Dust-slinging Reaper - Rwby Ruby just couldn't find her weapon. Swords, shotguns and scythes, all of them just didn't work out. So, when Qrow brought home some spare vials of dust and let Ruby mess with them, Ruby found the wonderful world of dust-mixing. Armed with her belt full of dust and her advanced-delivery-system, or Semblance, she finally has her weapon. Candelabra - Rwby Stop a robbery? That sounded like something any good huntress should do. Accidentally bisect Vale's Most Wanted Thief? That...wasn't in the job description. Now, with her wish for being a Huntress shattered by reality, and a rather terrifying short-stack trapped in her mind, Ruby must try to sort her mess of a new life out, sharpish. Imperial Problems, Imperial Solutions - Star Wars Tiancor Tensto, renowned Imperial bounty-hunter, assassin, sniper and pilot extraordinaire. Dealing death to whoever pays her the most, follow her on her journeys around the galaxy, and watch her uncover more about her past than she'd ever hope to find. On Apples and Trees - Rwby 10 years. 10 quiet, long years. For Team RWBY at least, those 10 years were filled with screams, crying, and a lot of new experiences. But, if there was one thing the 4 could agree on, it was that the entire thing was worth it in the end. Watch Autumn Rose and Yin Xiao-Long as they grow up...Yes this is a fluff story, Li and Mei artwork is adorable. Snap - Rwby "Snap!" One moment, Ruby was comfortably lazing about on her bed. Then, with a snap and little fanfare, she opened her eyes to find paws and...is that fur?! Now with her family searching frantically for her, and her seeming inability to do anything about it, Ruby must adapt to her new circumstances, and sharpish. But first, she must enjoy the Nirvana of dogs...sticks! The Urban Rogue - Rwby Living on the streets all her life after her mother died, Ruby was ruthless, hard to track down, and very cynical. So, when one day she was caught helping criminals lift dust from a shop, she was very cynical of the man who claimed he wanted her to come to his school. But hey, it beat scavenging in dumpsters, and the cafeteria food was great. Yes. I know. I have far too many Rwby fanfiction ideas. Sue me. Like I said at the top, if you want to use any of the story ideas listed on here, go right ahead. I don't particularly want credit, though I wouldn't turn it down, however I would ask that I at least get a message saying that you're using it, so that way I can go to your profile and read it for myself. While I want to write every single idea on this list, I simply don't have the time nor willpower to write more than 3 stories at once, so seeing someone else use one of those ideas for their own story would be awesome! Now, my Ruby Rose. The way she fights in my stories is unique. At least, For Feathered Rose and Watching Rose. So, imagine the hilt of a sword being attached to the underside of your left arm, positioned so the sword would be going through your shoulder if it were there. Now, under her other arm she has her dagger, the handle pointing the same way. This means she can grasp the handle of her sword in her right hand and draw it, then draw the dagger in her other hand easily whilst her sword is forming and being all flashy. I think it's a neat idea, so that's how those two Ruby's have their weaponry stored. Broken Watch just has a scythe right now, Engineer Extraordinaire has regular XCOM weapons, and I don't think I need to explain the two Dragon-Ruby stories, do I? Last thing...I really, seriously, cannot convey just how much it means to me to see reviews, even simple ones like "Amazing Story" or "Looking forward to the next chapter". It seriously...I can't even describe it, it's the same feeling I get when I find a particularly amazing story, and it ends in a beautiful way, it really...just...it gets me all warm and fuzzy. So, thank you for your love and your interest, and I hope to live up to your expectations. | |||||||
