![]() Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. Name: Instrument of Fate, though you can call me Meg if you like :3 Gender: female. Big loves: Merlin (absolutely OBSESSED at the minute!), Criminal Minds, Harry Potter, Final Fantasy (VII, X, X-2 and XIII in particular), Morganville Vampires, NCIS, Stargate SG1/Atlantis, Resident Evil, Underworld, Smallville, The Walking Dead, anything Avengers, Kingdom Hearts and Assassin's Creed. Big Hates: TWILIGHT. Sorry Twi-Hards, but the complete sappiness and cliché of it all makes me cringe. So I've never been entirely sure what to write here, but I'm gonna start out with saying Hey. How're you feeling today? Lovely weather lately, eh? Ok, that's enough lying about the weather because let's face it - British weather is never anything to brag about. Something we can brag about however, is that HP was written and produced in Britain! And as a bonus, so was Merlin. :) ANYWAY.. Moving swiftly on. I still don't know what the hell I'm writing here, so I'll explain more about my big loves and my big hates. ;) Merlin is just about the coolest thing I've ever laid eyes on! My sister introduced me to it not too long ago (I'll admit I was reluctant at first) and I'm now completely hooked. Although admittedly I do sometimes want to slap Arthur round the face for being so bloody oblivious, I must admit that I really adore the entire story line. And the character development is something that really does amaze me. O_o For example: Arthur- Prattish, self-obsessed Prince - loyal, protective King. Though he's still a bit prattish and will probably never get over himself to the point of modesty like Merlin's. But really, I don't think it's possible for anyone to be as modest as him. Morgana- Fiery, but altogether good person, loyal and lovely - evil, (over-the-top-smirker) she-demon from hell Merlin- Insanely clumsy, lovely, ADORABLE, amateur warlock - insanely clumsy, lovely, adorable pro-warlock Ok, so some things have never and will never change, but that's why we love them. :) Well, that's why I love them... I can't really speak for everyone who has ever/will ever enjoy watching the amazingness that is Merlin. OH. Another point to make, WHY THE HELL DID THEY KILL OFF LANCELOT!? I don't know much about Arthurian Legend, but Lancelot should not have died right there. Merlin should'a done something. :( He's the most powerful warlock of all time! Honestly... Series 5: WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED. How could they do this!? Not going to lie to anyone, I blubbered and weeped and sobbed like a child who's just had their favorite teddy taken off them at the end of it all. It just didn't make any sense AT ALL. Again, Merlin is the most powerful warlock of all time; how could he not get a piece of metal out of someone, regardless of the type of weapon that it came from? OR, why didn't he just call for Kilgarrah immediately after it happened? OR, why didn't he do the whole power over Life and Death thing and use Kilgarrah's life? The old snake was dying from old age anyway; he said so himself. So why not offer his life when he knew it would make Merlin the happiest little bunny in the whole wide world? I thought the whole point of the show was that eventually, Arthur would find out about Merlin's magic and then they'd go on and be super awesome together... AND! To top off the whole WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED feel of the whole thing, they only went and killed off the best knight! I could not and still can't believe they killed off Gwaine. That was just NOT COOL. Speaking of how much I hate that it ended there, I'm thinking of writing a different ending, and maybe writing what could be classed as a series 6? In fact, yes. I'm going to do that. :) Check it out guys! Or don't; either way, whatever makes you happy in life. :) Harry Potter... what can I even say? I fell in love the moment I read the blurb of the first book. The whole idea is so perfect, and it's so amazingly written! The fact that Rowling mentions things in the first book that don't get explained until later books absolutely mystifies me - that she had to think and plan out every little tiny detail that finally all got tied together in the last book... And the amount of characters in the books! I didn't really appreciate just how many names and faces and backgrounds she had to come up with until I had a look on FF.net at the list of chars... It's crazy, I tell you! CRAZY. Now then. My all time favourite game, of ALL TIME, is Kingdom Hearts. Shall I explain why? Yes? Okiediddle! KH literally combines two of my most favouritist things in the world - Disney and final fantasy - churns them together, and spits out a super duper mixture of adorableness and badassness. I mean, the best example of cutebadassness, is obviously Sora. He is the goofiest, cutest thing in the world! I mean, in KH2, running through the water to Kairi, he freaking trips in the water! How amazingly cute is that!? And yet, at the same time, he's hiding all these mad keyblade wielding skills and at times suddenly becomes this flaming ball of absolute epicness. As you may be able to tell, I'm slightly in love with Sora. Speaking of, I call bullshit on Sora not passing the mark of mastery exam! One of the main reasons is because if you think about it, he is pretty much the reason that there are still seven princesses of heart and not six. If he hadn't sacrificed himself in the first one, Kairi would have remained a total vegetable and been useless. And then where would they be in regards to their whole 7 pure lights, 13 darkness thing!? Not only that, but the amount of shit Sora went through, the amount of times he saved the universe, and Yen Sid doesn't make him a master just cos he didn't jump into someone's heart? Wot? I got really upset at that. Annnyyyywaaaayyyyy... so yeah, I'm massively excited for whenever 3 comes out, because its gonna be so epic. I hope they finally make Sora not look like a little kid anymore though. Cos the fact that he's like, half the height of EVERYONE is a bit lame. Also, he needs muscles. :-) I just hope they do the third one for PS3, because that's like, the only thing that annoys me about KH- the fact that its on so many consoles. Its almost as if every time a new console comes out or is announced, Square just kinda go 'ooooooh, let's make it for that! That looks like fun!' ._. So annoying. Also, I did hear somewhere that KH3 isn't even going to come out until Versus 13 is finished, which looks like it's going to be years away. Considering Versus 13 was announced in 2006... It's been 7 years there isn't even an English trailer. They've kicked out at least 4 different games since they announced it, so to say that they're not going to do KH3 (which is likely going to be much more wanted than Versus) until it's finished is more than a little bit stupid. Personally, I think they should just scrap it. The story line doesn't even sound that great. Now, you may be wondering where my extremely passionate hate for Twilight came from. Well, I shall explain. At first, I was absolutely enthralled by it. I remember my friend telling me about this book, about this girl who fell in love with a vampire. And I didn't have the books, and she was still reading them, so every day at lunch we'd sit on the field at school and she'd tell me all about the few chapters she'd read the night before. And then I bought the books, and fell in love. The thought that I was once so captivated makes me cringe. ._. It wasn't until I thought about what the story actually means that I realized how incredibly silly and cliché they are. I hate everything about it. I liked Jacob and the wolves until Jacob went all I LOVE YOU on that stupid demon spawn from hell with the ridiculous name.. Renesme? Seriously? What even is that? Ugh. And the whole *throws self off cliff for adrenaline rush to see stupid sparkly vampire boyfriend* thing made me cringe. I get that you'd be upset, but c'mon.. Spending 3 months without talking to anyone? Not eating? Having nightmares? Not showering? Moving? She's so lame. I remember my friend sending me this picture once. It was split into 2, and on the top bit was a picture of Ginny Weasley, and it was captioned 'When Harry broke up with me for my safety, I tried to steal the sword of Gryffindor, I re-started the DA with Neville and Luna to defy Snape's regime and later fought in the Battle of Hogwarts.' There was then a picture of Bella Swan, captioned: 'When Edward broke up with me for my safety, I became near comatose for months, and I purposely put myself in danger just to hear his voice that my mind made up.' The above pretty much explains why I hate Twilight. :) I think the whole idea it gives off is that a girl can't live without her boyfriend, which is totally wrong. I understand how much love can impact a life, and how much it means to humans on a whole (it's a basic human desire, to seek out love) but Twilight just takes it too far. It also makes vampires and werewolves seem like total pussays. A vampire is supposed to be vicious and menacing, needing human blood and burning in the sun. Not being a vegetarian and freakin' sparkling. My ideal vamp's? Those on the Underworld movies, where vampires are kick ass. ;) (So sorry if you're a Twilight fan and you now hate me...) Criminal Minds is like the coolest thing ever. I find it absolutely fascinating, strange as that may seem. The program itself is incredible - the way they've woven the difficulties each character faces while simultaneously showing what can happen when someone's mind snaps is brilliant. By the way, I love love love Spencer Reid, because he is quite simply the most adorable, intelligent, naivé, sexy man ever. Naivé when it comes to women, that is. Actually, no, he's just naivé with every social aspect of life, but that's what makes him so incredibly adorable. Also, am I the only CM fan who thinks Morgan's eyebrows are really nice? Yeah? That's just me? Ok... I also think Derek and Penelope have the best relationship EVER. Epic Quotes for your viewing pleasure:
"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." - Mahatama Gandhi. "Destinies... are troublesome things." - Merlin. "It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live." - Albus Dumbledore. "Of course this is happening inside your head, but why should that mean it isn't real?" - Albus Dumbledore. (And one more, because really that man is a genius.) "Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times. If one only remembers to turn on the light." - Albus Dumbledore. "You look like a bear wearing a marshmallow." - Cloud Strife. "All the world is made from faith, and trust, and pixie dust." - J.M Barrie, Peter Pan. "Trust is like a mirror, you can fix it if it's broken, but you can still see the crack in that mother f*er's reflection." - Lady GaGa. "Whatever you are, be a good one." - Abraham Lincoln. My personal philosophy of life: always smile. Because the night will always fade away, the sun will always rise, and one day things will look up. There's always going to be a new day. Favorite Authors: - J.K Rowling (duh! She's amazing!) - David Eddings (in my opinion, the KING of old school fantasy. Y'know, swords and crossbows and shields and magical lands that need saving by a devilishly handsome hero) - Rachel Caine (because she appreciates what REAL vampires are in the Morganville Vampires books. I really do recommend these, they're fantastic!) - Oliver Bowden (because he was a genius and made the Assassin's Creed game stories into books for people like me who often only play for the story) I recently decided to take English Literature as an A Level in Sixth Form, and my over-the-summer-holidays reading/research thingy is about Goth. I'm to 'immerse myself in as much gothic media as possible', were, I believe, my english teacher's words. And thus, I now have about 11 new books that feature super creepy things and have super creepy front covers. For example, the image on the front of Edgar Allen Poe's complete works is an amazingly weird and disturbing image... But hey, I'm a wimp. Pairings! I'm mainly very canon when it comes to pairings, but here's what I look for to read and such. Merlin: Arthur/Gwen Merlin/Freya Merlin/Morgana I always used to think about what could happen if one day it turned out that Morgana had been manipulated by Morgause, or maybe Morgause could have cast a spell on her sister to make Morgana do her bidding or something, and then Morgana broke free and returned to being kind and sane. And then her and Merlin'd fall in love and they'd be shocked at it but it'd be really cute and amazing. :3 As for Merthur... I'm sorry, I can't do it. ._. I can see where a lot of fans get the whole 'they must be gay' thing, because some of the things they say in show.. But, like I said, I'm mainly very canon, and I won't turn people gay just because of a few things they say that could be taken that way. I can read slight Merthur, y'know, where there's no passionate make out sessions and stuff, and just slight hints, because that's all I see in the show. Slight hints that could be taken that way if you so chose, but are small enough that they can be completely ignored. Harry Potter:
Ron/Hermione James/Lily Can't actually think of any more that I actively look at when it comes to writing... Speaking of writing Harry Potter stuff, you'll probably find that when I do write it, it'll mainly be the Marauder's time period. I just find them so much more interesting to write about - there's less fact about them in the books which leaves more to the imagination. ;) Stargate SG1:
Daniel/Vala Atlantis:
NCIS:
Timmy/Abby Gibbs/Jenny Kingdom Hearts:
Roxas/Naminé Riku/Xion Aqua/Terra So I know that KH isn't exactly romance-centric, but still.. :) FFVII: Cloud/Tifa - I HATEHATEHATE Cloud/Aerith Aerith/Zack - For the same reason as above. These 2 were together first, and the only reason Aerith liked Cloud was because she saw Zack in him. And the only reason she saw Zack in him was because of his poor Jenova-damaged mind :( Poor Cloud. Yuffie/Vincent - they're cute, ok? Cid/Sheila FFX/X-2:
Rikku/Gippal Paine/Baralai Wakka/Lulu FFXIII/XIII-2:
Lightning/Hope (I used to find this weird, but now Hopes older than Light so.. ;)) And no, I don't do the Vanille/Fang thing, cos I believe it's fine for 2 girls to be close without being bang-buddies behind the scenes -.- Criminal Minds:
Wow, this thing is reallllyyyyy long. Sorry! I have this issue with rambling.. n_n Also, I just realized that Square comes up with the strangest names for it's characters. :L My auto-correct is having a complete fit. But that's what makes them loveable, I guess. :3 So yes, I think I'm gonna rap things up here before you're brain overloads with pointless information about me. :3 One last thing though; should you read any of my fics, please review? They make me dance around my room singing gleefully. :) Much love and appreciation, I.O.F/Meg xo |
