![]() Author has written 11 stories for Harry Potter, Naruto, Orphan Black, and Attack on Titan/進撃の巨人. Hello, fellow fan-writer inhabitants of Fanfiction.net. The name is Red, for all intents and purposes. I'm 22 and live in New York, student by day, frantic writer/artist by night. Most of my writing is on original projects (such as that novel-in-progress that may or may not someday be the next Harry Potter) but I also enjoy fanfiction. My favorite fandoms to work with include well-developed canonverses that can easily be explored further, typically in the sci-fi or fantasy genre. Some literary fandoms that I use frequently are Harry Potter, Holly Black's Modern Faerie Tales, The Hunger Games, Lord of the Rings, and Tamora Pierce's Tortall and Circle of Magic settings. In terms of anime/manga, I usually go for CLAMP settings (Clover and Angelic Layer/Chobits, primarily), Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Cowboy Bebop as canonverses. On a side note I also enjoy writing fanfictions related to Misfits (a British TV series), Teen Titans (both the comic and the TV show) and Batman (the villains of Batman being my primary fascination) as well. Some signatures of my fanfiction style are that I use very few canon characters and events (usually most of my stuff will involve original characters or minor canon characters, with major canon characters and events either playing a small role, a background role, or no role whatsoever), I play off of the idea of what really distinguishes a hero vs. a villain quite often, and I tend to use some deeper, more psychological overtones and messages within my stories--either to emphasize themes within the canon that are prevalent but not widely recognized, or to call attention to a real-world problem or theme by projecting it somewhat onto the canonverse. My writing style is dark, gritty, edgy, and descriptive. It has been described as "dystopian-esque" "the literary love child of Holly Black, Francine Pascal, and Jodi Picoult" "urban romantic" and "contemporary young-adult". My writing sometimes plays off of the idea of the diamond in the rough - i.e. taking things that are typically seen as commonplace or even dirty or repulsive and using my writing to make them beautiful, romantic, poetic, or even erotic. My penname changes often. It is almost always the name of a character in a current original fiction project I am working on. Current penname (Fractal Alexander) is the name of one of the two detectives who act as protagonists in an original crime drama I'm working on called WIRES. Networked Accounts: Current Projects: The Marked Ones (Harry Potter canonverse - Elia Shacklebolt, the adopted daughter of famed Auror Kingsley Shacklebolt, learns of her true lineage, as the daughter of an infamous Death Eater, and must decide if she wants to side with her adoptive father or take the destiny that her parents had planned for her) [PS: Part of Purity (the first installation of The Marked Ones) is online...the preview image was drawn by me. Although you can't see it too well, the drawing can be viewed in a larger size here. Also, I am considering doing a spin-off (which would only have 1 or 2 chapters) that would be specifically about Nina and Dillon...but more about that later.] |
