I'm a college student majoring in History and English Lit. I've read fanfic for several years and just started writing. My favorite fandoms are Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, CSI, Stargate and Queer as Folk. I'm also partial to Dead Like Me, but haven't been able to find a whole lot. I know I've been horrible about updating, but I had the semester from hell.

As Close To Perfect is officially on hiatus. I wrote the existing part after seeing the episode on DVD and couldn’t figure out where it wanted to go after that. While I was staring at it, I realized that it wasn’t so much where it should go next as where it was before that. When it returns, it will be as a BtVS/Angel crossover going back and forth between their high school years and the present (well, the present starting from that episode) and heavily featuring Wesley.

I apologize for the delay in updating. Right about the time I got a handle on things and started writing again, I moved in with my parents to save money. That’s beginning to look like a huge mistake and has adversely affected every part of my life. Unfortunately my former roommate has already rented out my room and I can’t afford a deposit on new apartment for a few months. Now that school has started back up, I think I’m going to have to deal with it and stay here for the time being. Wish me luck.

I truly envy the writers who’s family’s read and provide feedback on their work. Most of my family thinks that writing in general is a waste of time and I should just get a real estate license. They don’t know that I write fanfiction, but had great fun in ridiculing me when I mentioned that I read it. They are also very conservative and are disgusted by the idea of homosexuality. I doubt they know what slash is and I wouldn’t want to be around when they find out. My mother is the worst of all. She is a fundamentalist Christian who believes that homosexuality is a form of demon possession and thinks that Harry Potter promotes Satanism in children.

As the New Year begins and I reassemble my life, I plan to write and update on a regular basis. Hopefully this time around my plans work out.

Update 2/17/07- Do New Year Resolutions still count if you start from the Chinese New Year? Just as I think everything is going to work out, it all starts to unravel. I was laid off because the woman who held my position before decided full-time mommydom didn't suite her and asked for her job back. I've spent the last month jumping through hoops to find a new job and started last week. So far so good, but the person before me quit after just a few days. At least he won't be asking for the job back. I am terrified that they will relize I don't belong in their nice professional office and even more afraid that they actually believe I'm capable. Oddly enough, considering the 45 hour wok week and 2 hour daily commute time, I have had more drive to write and create than I've felt for a long time.
