A Step-by-step Guide to Flirting with Slytherins:

#1) Find out what they’re passionate about, and from there

a. Agree with them. Slytherins love to find people with similar views, to discuss and clarify and talk about the weak points of the other side

OR

b. Disagree with them. If you keep it civil and lighthearted, but earnest, there is little Slytherins love more than a good debate. As long as things don’t get heated, they could gain a lot of respect for you.

#2) Banter, banter, banter. Slytherins are quick thinkers, and love wordplay. That’s probably the best way to overtly flirt with a Slytherin.

#3) Be competitive. Or, ask them to show you something they’re good at (e.g. art, a sport, music, etc.). Depending on the Slytherin, ask them to teach you, even.

#4) Be confident, but honest. If you’re good at something, don’t lie and say you’re not. Take credit for it. Don’t fish for compliments. That’s just annoying.

#5) Above all else, be genuine. Slytherins search for authenticity, and if they feel you’re not being yourself around them, they’ll get uncomfortable and not want to spend time with you. I’m of the opinion that many Slytherins have a soft spot for Hufflepuffs, so you’ve got a headstart there.
