![]() Hey everyone From Canada and proud of it (well mostly lol) Graduated from York Univerity (remember Canada) I'm old enough to have knowledge but young enough to sometimes think I'm wise. I'm a bit pretentious, but then who isn't. I have a wicked sense of humor and I don't mind showing it. I sometimes put my foot in my mouth, if this happens when reviewing then I'm sorry and please don't be afraid to tell me. I try not to take things too seriously but I'm human, no matter what anyone says, Lol. I love reading, try writing just not brave enough to post any works. Also haven't finished any yet. I consider myself a better poet, I have a ton and love trying to write different forms of poetry, not all rhyming or even popular types. I follow my feelings a lot especially when reading and writing anything. I'm a Star Wars fanatic, but I've not met much Sci-fi and Fantasy that I don't like. Doctor Who is a fairly recent obsession for me, started watching Torchwood and went to Dr. Who from there. It is also a family pastime; mom, sisters, niece and nephew all watch and mostly together. I love comics, manga, anime and video games. I've played all my life. I love reading, mostly actual books instead of off the Internet. Some think I'm a snob, but I love engaging all my senses. Goes back to following feelings I guess. I love the feel, smell, weight of the book. I love gripping in my hands during a thrilling or suspenseful part and using it to cover my face and eyes or closing it during embarrassing parts. But I love reading fanfic, I stopped for awhile years back because life took over, something just called to me so I started again. I love movies new and old or classic Hollywood including but not limited to sci-fi, horror, film noir, detective, mystery, action adventure, fantasy, comedy. Qui Gon Jinn is my favourite Jedi (followed closely by Obi Wan, thanks mostly to the wonderful stories on this site) and Darth Vader is my favourite Star Wars character period. I promise that when I read a story, if I finish because stories that don't 'speak to me' for whatever reason I stop reading, I'll review it. By 'speak to me' I mean if I don't feel a connection to it I stop reading. My review might take a while, Because I hate just writing 'good' 'great' or 'loved it'. The author has taken the time to give their readers a great gift, their story which a little piece of them. I feel that it's only fair to return the favour and give them a little piece of myself. When I review I try to write; what I liked, what I didn't, what I thought worked or didn't work, what I wanted to see, what I would have liked different, any questions I had about the story or any that the story created, and what the story made me feel. I feel my reviews are sometimes more ramblings but I try to put my feelings, emotions, and thoughts into words and it is not always easy, I put a little of me into every review I write. Sometimes the stories affect me more than I can express and those become my favourite. Don't get me wrong any story I read, completely, or follow I love and appreciate but not all of them affect me on the same level. I thank each and every author for their work, even if I don't enjoy or read it myself, because it takes courage and love to put yourself and your work out there for others to see. I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who responds to my reviews, getting your thanks and seeing how it affects you is awesome. So while I don't post my own stories I know how you feel about reviews. Your responses warm my heart and I thank you for your acceptance of my, albeit small, gift remember 'size matters not'. This is just my attempt to reveal some of myself to you. Please keep in mind a few things though. One I decided what to include and what not to, although it was rather difficult and longer than I expected. Two, you can see who I am not just by what I write but by how, by reading my reviews and by looking at my favourite stories and authors. Third, I ramble a lot even though I try to stay on track. Forth, I and actually no one can be summed up entirely, so this is where I say good bye. Thank you for reading my bio and May The Force Be With You. Oh and "expect me when you see me." ;) |
