A few years ago, there have been reports about people worldwide that gain a quirk: a special ability that can determine your fate as a person. But what happens when your quirk that was made for you, rejects you? What happens when your own quirk doesn't let you go about your daily life as a citizen or even hinders you from being the hero of your dreams?

Awakening brings remembering, and after a night's sleep, Izuku is overwhelmed by the fact that All Might could die and leave him... leave them all. It's not fair, not what the man deserves and not what Izuku would ever want. So in his determination, Izuku makes a vow to himself, his teacher, and the world. (Heavy spoilers for chapter 131 and AU from there on onwards!)

You want a tale of adventure in a world far away? Then go away. You want non-stop action? Then stop reading this. You want a story where the hero gets what they want? Then you want nothing to do with this story. There are no heroes or villains in this story, just a mad man, with a plot, a setting, a beginning, a middle, and a girl who wants it to end.

All Might has finally been forced into retirement after half of a decade of sliding downhill and the world has begun to mourn the loss of its greatest hero. Some people, however, like him better this way. Same universe/canon divergent.
