![]() Author has written 2 stories for Stargate: SG-1, and Dresden Files. Hey there, Congratulations on going and reading this profile. Here is what you get to know as a reward. I'm weird, twenty-ish, agnostic (though I still go to Church to think sometimes), a scathingly sarcastic cynic when you talk to me, I come from Slovenia (that's in Europe, for geography idiots), study social studies, and swear to occasionally write something good amidst the crap chasing itself `round in my head. I can: crochet, drive a motorcycle, light a fire in -10 degrees, cook, work construction, do fortune telling, and will offer a shoulder to cry on or an ear to vent to my friends, and tear of the head off any frustrated jerk who tries to take it out on me. I also make an effort to daily wonder at at least 3 things that are, (people, objects, occurrences) and recommend it to you too. It's good to look at the usual as weird. Keeps the inner child young. I cannot: figure out how to de-Americanize my damn keyboard, keep my mouth shut when there is obvious stupidity going on, talk to a man without him either thinking me crazy or adorable (neither is good when you're trying to pick a guy up), stand techno, at times manage my temper. I like black humor, anime, manga, romance (yeah yeah, a romantic cynic, laugh it up, I like the idea of it, alright? Kinda like a penguin liking the idea of Sahara), action films, my guitar, Tarot, Jeff Buckley, every intense color - the favorite is orange, classic rock, blues and jazz, reading (favorites are Neil Gaiman, Mikhail Bulgakov, George R. R. Martin and Terry Pratchett), long walks in the forest and philosophy. I hate war, close minded egomaniacs, Hello Kitty and Winx, bullies, pastel colours (especially on clothing), vegetarians wearing clothes made with child-labor, politics, homo- and xeno-phobia, religious zealots that don't think of those with a different religion as fellow-humans, those teensy-tiny yapping rat-dogs, people who just give up and don't even try - and than whine about unfair. I admire inquisitiveness, true artists (music, paintings, books,), God(ess?) for making the universe such an interesting place, the patience of my parents (anyone else and I wouldn't survive thirteen) fantasy and imagination, people who make a difference , people who do the unpopular things that keep society going (teachers, cops, garbage men), and the courage it takes to keep on living. I miss Dragonball, famliy vacations, careless days of primary education, my Grandfathers (hope they allow the eating of greasy roast and the singing of saucy student songs in heaven), those days when you could watch Tv with actual movies and no Reality Tv, and there were cassete tapes in the car, coffee for 50 cents. Quotes (proudly a quotefreak!) ~`Cynic, n. A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be.` - Ambrose Bierce ~`In the Beginning, the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.` - Douglas Adams ~`Courage is not the lack of fear. It is acting in spite of it.` - Mark Twain ~`Insanity doesn't run in my family, it gallops` - bumper sticker ~`Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.`- George Carlin ~`I object. Tears are highly functional. They keep the heart wounds from festering, and show the courage to bare your pain to others.` - me at 15, debating at school lunch. ~`God moves in extremely mysterious, not to say, circuitous ways. God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of His own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time. Footnote to above: * ie., everybody.` ~Most books on witchcraft will tell you that witches work naked. This is because most books on witchcraft are written by men. ~`It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people.` - Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, Good Omens ~`That which doesn`t kill me, had better run pretty damn fast`- bumper sticker ~`I wouldn't burden any decent system of faith by participating in it.`- Character Harry Dresden in Death Masks by Jim Butcher~ ~`Bomb Expert. If you see me run, try to keep up.` - bumper sticker ~front `I like to hug,` back `I'm prettier from the front.` - a T-shirt that my past-his-fifties looks-like-a-pirate boss likes to wear to work ~`Gravity limits the freedom of movement.` - one of my badges ~'The woods are lovely, dark and deep, | But I have promises to keep, | And miles to go before I sleep, | And miles to go before I sleep.' - Robert Frost ~'Cuius testiculos habes, habeas cardia et cerebellum. ~My mother: `Money isn't everything!` My father: `Then remind me why should I be paying alimony?` - my parents on my grandmother's birthday party. Guess from which one I got the Bitch-Potential from? ~The creature laughed scornfully. "I," it said, "am frightened of nothing." "Nothing?" "Nothing," it said. Charlie said: "Are you extremely frightened of nothing?" "Absolutely terrified of it," admitted the Dragon. "You know," said Charlie, "I have nothing in my pockets. Would you like to see it?" "No," said the dragon uncomfortably, "I most definitely would not." There was a flapping of wings like sails, and Charlie was alone on the beach. "That," he said, "was much too easy." - Neil Gaiman, Anansi Boys ~Klinger (as a Korean girl stares at his dress): This is what happens to you when you don't eat your vegetables. - M.A.S.H ~We never really grow up, we just learn how to act in public. -badge ~ `Do I look made of iron and pointed?`No? Well that's because I'm not a lightening rod! Go be a bitch at someone else! -me, to my aunt right before I walked out of the room. And yes, she still lives and bitches, because I'm way too nice to my relatives. ~''Wait, wait, wait. You mean to tell me that, a gay man goes to Hell, but you won't? Did you read the Bible? 'Cuz about two lines above that Leviticus crap of 'gays are abomination' it says exactly the same about people eating pork and touching pig leather...`` - me, to a scriptural literalist, in this whacky international religious youth group that used to look for new members on campus. (Was approached by a recruiter, was curious, so me and some friends went to one of their meetings. We've been asked not to come again. Had us a great time, so a lot of our co-students went too, on our recomendation... for some reason, the recruiters stopped coming about a week after. And that's what philosopy, theology and sociology students call fun, folks.) ~Stated after Allen was shot and a doctor told him, "General, I fear that the angels are waiting for you.': ''Waiting, are they? Waiting, are they? Well, let 'em wait!'' - Ethan Allen ~Death was standing behind a lectern, poring over a map. He looked at Mort as if he wasn't entirely there. And then there was silence...Now, class, don't be hasty, plenty of room in front of the board... Let's see, who should we crucify first? - Ms. Professor, smirking horribly, 'asking' for voulenteers. She hated our guts. ~Safety is an illusion. One we never dare give up. - Unknown ~Early: Where'd she go? Simon: I can't keep track of her when she's not incorporeally possessing a spaceship; don't look at me.. . . Early: I only hurt people 'cause they keep gettin' in the way of me finding you. [points his gun at Simon] Tell her. Simon: What am I, your advocate? Early: You are, starting now. Simon: [deadpan] He's really very… gentle, and fuzzy. We're becoming fast friends. [River/Serenity giggles.] Early: You folks are all insane. Simon: Well… my sister's a ship. We had a complicated childhood. - Firefly ~You hit me again and I'll scream and scream and scream and hit you back, and I hit harder and scream louder, too! - me, to my youngest half-sister throwing things at me. Funny thing is, just saying it works without ever having to do it. ~"I am sick and tired of war. It's glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation. War is hell." - General William Tecumseh Sherman ~First thing you'll learn when you conduct interviews is: People lie, especially to other people. So make sure they're alone and reasonably sure they'll never meet you again in their life if you want an answer with any chance of truth. - Mr. Professor. ~Excuse me, Madam, but this tattoo is not un-godly. It is, in fact, extremely godly. It just happens to be a serpent god. -don't really remember, but I think it was a biker somewhere in Berlin? There might have been beer involved. ~People lie, it's called living. Or politeness. - allegedly me, to a doctor, at 10. But my mother is prone to exagerration. (BROUGHT ON BY VITNESSING TOO MANY TROLLING REVIEWS, resulting in quality fics discontinued "for lack of interest" i.e. the author believeing a Troll.) STOP THE TROLL-VIRUS! Troll in this case refers to a specific type of a flamer reviewer, that doesnt really criticise, just spews some verbal vomit in the form of hate mail to make themselfes feel better. I find that this disgusting phenomenom is on the rise. Really, do you have to? Aren't you ashamed? It makes you feel better, but it also shows you're a jerk with low self-esteem, that spits on other people's work to make themselves feel better, showing a basic lack of emphaty and tolerance. They don't point out why they think it's a bad fic, they don't help authors improve it, they just get off on making other authors lose faith in their writing - basicly a bully reviewer whose own fics are usually bad, if they even post any. A troll will get a membership just to troll, spread misery around the site and provoke others, infecting them with the need to lash out at another author. This is known as the Troll-virus. Do not reply. Do not sink to their level. Do not be discouraged. TROLLS LIE! YOUR FIC IS GREAT, OTHERWISE THEY WOULDN'T BE JEALOUS AND TROLL IT! I write this in warning to all of you flamers: You do have the right to express your opinion. So does everybody else, and they have the right to hold a different opinion (or vision of the same fan-ship). You do not have the right to hurt another person via verbal abuse through hate mail a.k.a. trolling. By trolling around, you're showing your lack of respect for other people's work, and you're taking the courage to continue from people that would have improved in time if they just kept writing. Besides, this is fanfiction. It's for FUN, it's to spread your stories. Not an invite to insult others. So next time you set out to criticise, think of this: Are you writing a negative rewiev because you want the author to feel bad beacuse you're feeling mean, or because you found the fiction they wrote was really that bad or offensive to you? Is it really that hard to say why you didn't like it, why it offended? Do you really have to be a Troll? Stop the troll-virus, help other authors improve themselves! Don't be a jerk! Show respect for other authors! (copy-paste this into your profile if you think trolling is wrong) So now that you know all about me, go be awesome, and tell someone something nice (or bugger off). |
