I saw a headcanon on Tumblr after I saw The Last Jedi about Ben chasing Rey through their force bond to try to get her to talk to him and this is what happened. The aftermath of Crait leaves Rey with only goodbyes to give, and a bond with a man she's not sure she can trust. - "I promise." A strangled sob left her chest. "I'm not ready, General," Leia smiles a sad smile. "We're never truly ready to lose the ones we love. We just have to keep going," Leia winces as she takes a deep breath. "But you're not alone, dear girl."

"All I ever needed was you, Rey," his voice comes out as nothing but a mere whisper. "But you're so dreadfully bright."
