However, when a tragic incident leaves Joel bitten by Infected, the two come to terms with how they feel about each other. But, by some miracle, what if Joel shared Ellie's terrible gift? Joel is not a saint, and nobody knows it better than himself. He's done so much in his life, so many things unforgivable. Can a girl he's made to protect be the one to change him? Joel and Ellie moved in with Tommy's group in Jacksonville. Ellie has come to term with the fireflies and knows that Joel had to do what he had to do. But she realises that she may have some feelings for her old partner.

After Sarah leaves for college, Tommy drags Joel out to a bar where he meets a girl who needs his help. Pure fluff, no dystopia, no infected, a story that answers the question: what would dating for Joel be like in the era of text messages and cell phones? As this is an alternate universe, I have taken authorial license with Ellie's timeline and age.

Its a few years after Joel saved Ellie from the fireflies. The story shows the growing relationship between the two but things soon become tricky as they realise they have feelings that they didn't know they had.

Ellie and Joel aren't even halfway done with their trek across America. Slowly they are growing on each other. Perhaps in more ways than one. Ellie struggles to keep her ever curious thought to herself.

"I'll tell you what's wrong," he bites out, "I should have left you in that god damned hospital. I should have gotten out of there the moment I could have. My biggest regret is not lettin' you die that day."

She wears the mask well, but it's only a mask, and a mask can be ripped off. As much as it hurts, as much as it stings to admit, she's been carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders for too long, and it's time to let go, let mankind fix itself. Easier said than done. This is set after the final scene of The Last of Us and is inspired by Neil Druckmann's interpretation of the game's ending. Here, Joel has to stop controlling and manipulating Ellie before they can be together. Rated for sex and language.

Joel questions this after Ellie comes to him with something he never thought he'd hear from her. While struggling with his own moral code, he knows he owes something to Ellie, he's just at a loss of how to go about doing that. [Lemon]

Rating M (For Sex, Violence, Language, and everything Ellie and Joel do...) Summary: You don't make it through a pandemic by being the nicest survivor. This is a Ellie/Joel story and he helps get her ready to face a world without laws and moral. It is a lot darker than my other stories. (no rape from Joel)
